So I'm quite new here......does it always go this mad over something that hasn't happened yet!? It's not like the ITK os even we have made an offer. It's just talks. And we also all know how paratici likes to have 3 or 4 options pretty progressed before he picks?
Yeah mate, we're all well fucked on here. You still have time to join another normal forum who talk sense, you'll not get that here chief.

Zabiolo has the potential to be world class. If it weren't for his injuries, he'd be well beyond our ability to sign.

It's a gamble with his ACLs, but I'd go for it all day.
Exactly this! Just as long as it’s a loan with option or swap with Tangy + cash or a very well priced flat out deal, purely a big transfer fee is probably a bit too big of a risk when/if we could spend a similar amount on a Pacqueta or Maddison etc

If you had a choice between him and Maddison? If both were available of course.
Depends on the cost, same cost then Maddison all day long but if Zaniolo hit his form pre ACL and continued to develop then he could be an absolute megastar even better than Maddison.

Not saying that WILL happen, he’s more of a punt similar in a way to Lenglet being a punt but for the right price it would be a low risk gamble with potentially a lot of upside.

Does this fit in with what Rob said 2/3 weeks ago about being excited with AM options with some players we wouldn’t have thought would be possible a year or 2 ago (pre ACL injuries) ?‍♂️
Good point and could well do. A few years ago he was the next Totti and being linked with all the very very top clubs and we’d have not stood a chance in hell.

Now he is slightly worse and we are more attractive than ever so our paths could well cross nicely here.

Also think about the entire Conte squad puzzle. This would be a guy who would essentially be a 5th choice attacker and also an option to be played at ACM/CAM, an important part of the squad sure but it’s not like we’d be taking a gamble on a starting 1st choice CB for example so that should be taken into consideration when/if some people are saying he’s too much of a risk/gamble.

Worst case he doesn’t have quite the desired positive effect when we bring him on or when he plays but the overall core system and first choice 11-15 won’t be too effected. Best case he finds his pre ACL form or better and we have an absolute world beater on our hands.

I admit I’m terrified of the likes of Bournemouth, Wolves, Palace, and West Ham next year. The orc-like anti football sides languishing in the relegation spots. The thing is, they should be a guaranteed 3 points but we’ve struggled to break teams down under Conte and it’ll only get tougher next season.

I hope this new fangled set piece specialist is a genius because without those X factor sort of goals, I have a feeling we’ll be coming away frustrated in a lot of those matches. We’ve made fun of Arsenal for signing light weight fancy-foot fairies, but the truth is all PL matches count for the same 3 points, and we need some playmaking in the side. I’m not confident in our ability to pass through low blocks and none of our wingbacks are good crossers, bar Perisic. Conte has his work cut out for him this year. Zaniolo is a beastly ball progressor and runner into space on the counter, put 2 or 3 defenders in front of him though and it’s a much different story.
I’m not sure I’d classify Palace or Wolves as anti-football. They both play very attractively.

I’m not surprised if so, I must say I’m still hoping we don’t go through with it. There is a part of me that would be genuinely curious to see what Conte could do with him. But I guess I was really hoping to see us make one attacking addition that would really push for a starting spot in our best line up. And as we don’t really have a creative midfielder, then it would be an obvious pick to bring in some real quality in that position.
I’m probably in a similar boat ? tbh, if he was our only AM signing it would be a tad underwhelming purely because it’s a bit of a risk compared to say a Maddison, if we got both then happy days.

But as you say part of me would be curious to see if he can produce his pre ACL form and to see if Conte could turn him into a superstar.

It also really depends on the whole squad puzzle.

If it’s say Zaniolo on loan with an option and then we sign Bastoni or Gvardiol instead of say Maddison and no additional CB or a much more underwhelming one then sure Zaniolo & Bastoni/Gvardiol would probably be better overall, but part of me hopes we might even go for Zaniolo, Maddison and say a Bremer or P.Torres, given we should still have a good £60 mil left of the £150. + a good Chuck of change to come from player sales.

All depends on the squad puzzle as a whole but looking at this as an individual option, if it’s a loan with option to buy or some sort of swap for Ndombele and we pay a bit on top then I’d certainly be all for either of those options as low risk but with a big possible upside if he found his pre ACL form or better.

Interesting one for sure.

From a personal point of view I’d like it to happen purely because I want us to start signing some bloody Italian players ?? ?? ? 6 new signings and not one of them an Italian who I can call my Nonna up and tell her about ???? ⚽️

He played 42 games last year and contributed 17 goals / assists. I was expecting fewer games given the commentary on here
Yep only missed 4 games in Serie A all season with injury, each time a single game for a minor issue. He’s not injury prone he’s just had a twin ACL rupture in the past so has been our for a long time with that but nothing based on last season to say he’s particularly injury prone, it’s more a question of can he find more consistency and can he find his pre ACL form, if so he’d be a phenomenal signing.

I’m up for this if Conte is, but I would be lying if I weren’t a little concerned.

It’s not his knees that would concern me, it would be the perceived attitude, work rate & lack of willingness to pass. At first glance that sounds like exactly the type of player Conte would look to get rid of at the first opportunity, especially the attitude.

But, like 99% on here, I know nothing and it’s a loan…..if it gets rid of Ndombele then it’s worth every penny.

He’s had a lot of muscular injuries in a less demanding league. He’ll struggle with the intensity and pace of the EPL = more injuries.
