Not the scouts at all. The deal would have to suit, but Conte is very keen. That's good enough for me.
I’m assuming this would be the creative midfielder options. Not really surprised in that I know Paratici has long been a big fan but would have so so much rather halve gone for Paqueta. For me Zaniolo is too much like Kulu and doesn’t really add anything new.

I probably like Zaniolo more then most on here having seen him be the jewel Inters youth crown, and he does have a large amount of untapped ability. But at this point he feels like a cheap back up option rather then someone who will take us forward. He also needs to loose his party boy attitude, was one of the reasons Jose fell out with him.

It’s a shame if this is last attacking addition, as it is seeming the case. I just hope that he can stay fit and make good on his potential. If he can, then there is still a chance we end up with an incredible talent. But with the injuries etc, it’s a big risk.

Last season as per transfermarkt, played a fair amount, 8 goals, 9 assists, not so bad, 13 yellows and a red.
3 goals and I believe 3 assists of those came from two random matches in the Conference League. In fact that one Bodo Glimt hat trick is basically the only *great* match he played all year.

6 total goal contributions in 30 Serie A matches as a key forward is the damning statistic here.

He started 16 Serie A matches from August to December and had literally one single assist in that entire period.

Quick question, if we have end up selling tanganga/winks and bring in Zaniolo are we going to still be ok on HG numbers?

I was hoping for Maddison thread to erupt into activities with over 8 pages of posts. But it's here instead. :banghead:

Hopefully I can shed some light on this from a medical POV. ACL injuries don't mean what they once did for players. We regularly rehab players to pre injury levels although in some cases a player may adapt their game if we feel their play style was a contributing risk factor to the injury. In Zaniolo's case as a physician I'd be more concerned if the same knee failed as it would indicate a surgical failure. Additionally, if there is a structural concern regarding the knees stability under load then he won't get through the medical.

The key issue for a young player missing this length of time with 2x ACL recoveries is the footballing development they don't always catch up on from the sheer amount of time away from the sport.

Before the injury he was a huge talent. He still is but the injuries have definitely impacted his development. It’d be a huge risk because of the injury history and he still has quite a bit to learn but the ability is there. I don’t think it’d be the right move for him to move to the premier league but if Conte wanted him I could definitely see it work.
Yes exactly, I completely agree!

Only thing is he used ti have very underrated pace and was actually very quick. He lost alot of that, and couple that with a the injuries, and the physicality of the prem I don't know if it'll be a good fit. Would still support it if it happens but it be difficult for him.

You're all saying no because his 2 injuries. Imagine being linked with Harry Kane who has glass ankles.
Im saying no because hes painfully average. has a crap output, runs down blind alleys constantly, is one footed and is perma crocked too

Looks really hard to knock off the ball. Big physical player, can carry the ball, very left footed and sometimes holds onto the ball too long. Sounds a lot like Dembele to me.
Does anyone know why Juve passed on him?

An Italian mate for Bastoni:cautious:

I'm not sure on this one, the few times I did watch Roma he didn't exactly stand out but if Conte and the scouting team want him and we can get a good deal done then lets go for it.

He plays mostly RW and with Lucas moving to RWB (or being sold) and Richarlison only having played once at RW for Everton in the last 2 seasons I guess it makes sense to provide cover for Kulu

Hardly anyone on here wanted Kulusevski when we were linked with him so fingers crossed this 23 year old(!) Italian International has the same impact.

Cheap option? If the Italian reports in the last few days are to be believed, Roma want circa €45-50m for him..
