I don't get the sense that Conte wants to switch to a 352 as much as some of you want to make that switch. Given the limited amount of training sessions that Conte will get once we start playing twice a week in September, I think Conte would prefer to spend most of that time drilling in his preferred (for Spurs) formation/tactics.

Zaniolo looks like he could slot into the RW role pretty seamlessly - similar skill set to Deki.
Some people cannot accept that Conte just simply prefers to not play with a traditional #10 in most scenarios, so they come up with any possible scenario where he might use one.

Everyone grew up with the thought process that a #10 was the source of creativity for a team. Therefore, now that we don't have one, everyone feels that our squad is incomplete (even though Conte teams creativity always come from the wingbacks)

And do we think Madison is that player willing to come and be the option from the bench? Also somewhat makes your point about bringing him in and working on him being a free kick specialist pointless if over half the time the set piece taker isn't even on the pitch.
I think JM would come as regular rotation for our Plan A front three, and as one of our Plan B options. I also think that the team that best exploits the 5 subs rule this season will have a competetive advantage. Being able to bring on a Plan B set piece delivery expert AND a set piece finisher expert (Richy?) as a duo might work?

Seeing most of our fans moan but all juve fans excited about potentially getting him. Almost like 1 set of fans actually watch Italian football…

To be fair I’m not sure anything Juventus fans say can be taken seriously considering how much they slated Bentancur and Kulusevski! They hated the pair of them.

Moura's output have basically doubled under Conte than he had under Mourinho, the same with Bergwijn. So this is really good comparison to make. Pellegrini and Tammy also had better stats in previous seasons.
What? That’s definitely not true about Lucas, off the top of my head I remember him getting some important goals and assists in the league and Europe in 20-21, under Conte it’s basically the same output. As for Bergwijn he scored two 90 minute goals and did basically nothing else, sure Berg didn’t score under Jose in ‘20-21 but he did during the COVID season.

Point I’m making here is that obviously Conte is better than Jose was with players and will improve most everyone, but he didn’t really do much for Berg/Lucas who are similar level players to Zaniolo. Kane and Son are world class and would look world class under even Neil Warnock, conte’s system gets them more opportunities but they were both bloody excellent in 20-21 anyways.

So basically I don’t see the magical improvement of auxillary forwards that Conte has done here.

I’d just like to say that if I ever get shelved by the wife, I’m 100% going to be on this message board so I can hookup with all the Physio, Accountant and Body Language Specialists.

I don’t know how you all have time for all three careers as well as your actual jobs.

The single ones amongst you must be literally drowning in [vag][peen][both].
As an actual Physio, I can confidently say that I have no idea how his ACL repairs are going to affect him. As I’m not his Physio. Could cause issues in the future, so sensible to be cautious. But could be absolutely fine, and possibly super strong post surgery and the right intensive rehab.

Absolutely no way of us knowing.

But there are a few suggestions Conte wanted him at Inter. If he believed he was a right winger, why would he want him to play in a 3-5-2?

Honestly I think we see him as a bit of both, a number 8, number 10 and right wing option.

We will see. I just don't see it happening anyway tbh, I think if we were looking for an out and out AM to create a regular tactical switch, it would have been at the forefront of our Summer business not an afterthought because we might be able to get him cheap due to his clubs financial situation.
Agree you don’t buy madison to not start him. It would mean a tactical change to 4231 of some sort which I would love but conte doesn’t. Which is why someone like Zaniolo on an option gives us the opportunity to see if he can fulfill his potential and become first team in CM, or the Wing positions.

Which Juve fans exactly? Pretty much all of them are moaning about the ludicrous fee of €50m.

That’s probably because they’re used to signing players on a free transfer and didn’t realise most good players usually cost a bit of money ? ?

Rather than everyone going on about his injury record, I'm surprised no one is talking about his discipline.

In serie A last season.... 23 appearances he has 10 yellows and 2 reds. Wtf is that? Add to the comments from every manager saying he was a bit of a dick... I don't see it at all

In those 23 games and 5 off the bench (when he was not attacking other players) he managed a grand total of 2 goals and 2 assists.

So just to have a rundown here...

2 ACL
Bad attitude (confirmed by managers)
Bad discipline on field and off field (according to reports)
High transfer price (reported)
Never played outside of Italy
No (little) end product
Greedy

Sounds bonkers to me. And someone suggested maddison might be a bad idea because of some tweets?

Every one of our signings have made sense so far, this one makes no sense whatsoever.

Sigmund Freud would probably say it's due to his repressed sexual desires towards his mom. Poor fella.

Cheers Parky, for the avoidance of any doubt my post was absolutely directed at the “”experts”” rather than the actual experts.

I bow to any actual expertise. Unlike Michael Gove. #Topical (in 2016)

Conte and Paratici have earned our trust at the moment. They can sign whoever they want as far as I'm concerned.
