I don't have a dog in the ring with this one, but I see Dembele-like strength plus floating past multiple opponents regularly (and a better range of passing and finishing) so with the right coaching at 23...

Strange how the same people who were saying he was complete shit are now saying he was always going to Juve/Jose loves him/Olise (who has proven nothing yet!) is miles better etc...

People... ??‍♂️

I've wanted Olise since I saw him at Reading, think he's got what it takes to go to the top.

I imagine though that at 35m, Conte may feel he can spend a little more to get someone who has been there and done it, or at least performed to a higher level. They may feel Olise would need a bit of work.

I like him but he's very hot and cold still, as you'd expect. A lot of talent clearly. VERY shy character though. Didn't realise he'd been through City and Chelsea already before Reading either?! Anyway, not the thread for it I guess...

This place is mental, everyone not wanting Zaniolo but wanting Olise instead….
Olise is talented but nowhere near the same level.
That's not what I have been calling for, I'd be happy with Zaniolo. I am merely stating my like for Olise and the belief he will go on to be a very good PL player.

If Conte really wants him it will be a shame if we can't make it happen. It sounds like Roma want him out but also want too much for him. Our best chance really is to send them a player who we ourselves can ask for a decent fee for.

Cheers Parky, for the avoidance of any doubt my post was absolutely directed at the “”experts”” rather than the actual experts.

I bow to any actual expertise. Unlike Michael Gove. #Topical (in 2016)
Yeah, I caught your drift ?

Looks utter pony, complete waste of a non homegrown. Maybe stop looking in Italy ffs. Literally looks to have no appealing abilities as far as watching every video on line.
Ok… so I maybe had sunken a few too many captain and cokes when posting this. I don’t know a great deal about anything let alone this guy. He does look a grafter. And a unit. Would add cover for kulu. Not sure where that leave moura. Can’t see him suddenly in the rwb position as conte had plenty of opportunities last season to try that out. Unless they have spoken and decided to try it out? Anyway, Zaniolo. If he’s the acm option I would obviously go for Maddison. No brainer really. But…. Like others have said. Let’s trust Conte.

Given the quotes from earlier this week Conte and Moura have had the conversation about playing RWB

Seeing as I was very anti signing Zaniolo, I went off and tried to find some underlying stats to try and convince myself I was wrong. (Have watched him play loads fyi)

And although the vast majority of stats were still pretty damning, one thing that showed up is that he’s definitely verybstrongwhen it comes to progressive carries and shot creating actions.

These are the two stats that players like Adama Traore and Allan Saint-Maximum tend to strive in, and we’re well aware that Paratici seemingly has a huge desire to add this type of player to the squad.

One very worrying stat that I highlighted though is his miscontrols, which puts him in the top worst percentile in the top 5 leagues.

If that's correct then that should instantly rule him out as a serious option. Would frustrate the hell out of us and particularly Conte

I think this is one of the things that puts me off the idea of him - we’ve had enough of players that can’t control a football. Sissoko and Moura come to mind. We need players with technical ability - It’s great watching Bissouma in training vids - so much ability.

Zaniolo never looks fully in control (like Moura) and if the stats bear that out then I feel vindicated I’m not wanting him.

That might be a subtle way to nudge Moura towards the exit. If we get another for the inside right then I can't see a place for Moura. We're stacked at right wing back now and we'll be we'll covered up top.

It's no bad thing with Moura gaining some versatility by learning the RWB position. He's 30 next month, and just one year left on his contract, so his transfer value to move on is probably worth less than the value he offers our squad/bench by being able to cover multiple positions. He's also been a great mentor/peer for the new Brazilians coming to the club.

He actually looks like one of the key people in the harmonious atmosphere of the squad as a whole not just the Brazilians. He also clearly loves the club. He may only show his brilliance in patches but it always makes me a bit sad when people are so dismissive of him.

He's a valuable squad member. Not the most talented and won't get loads of goals or assists but the type who will fill in where needed, run his heart out & do a job for the team when you need it best.

A Brazilian James Milner, if you will.

Really don’t think Moura is going anywhere as we need 6 as cover up top, we add e.g. Zaniolo and that gives us 6 so why get rid of Moura, he’s a good character, he won’t make a fuss, he can come on as our 6th attacker and he can occasionally play RWB if we need to really attack a team.
