More and more convinced this is what @Dodgylasgne did before the internet

Wouldn’t surprise me if Jose is throwing the spanner in the works..

His ego would love to get one over on us.

If it’s looking that way move on.

So what you are saying is if Jose would love to put one over on us we should let him.

No, exactly the opposite.

If it drew out for much longer we could miss out on Zaniolo and our next choices, so if he looks like buggering us about, move on and secure the next one down the list.

I don't think it's that simple in this case. As far as I know there isn't a long list of possibilities here. I know there has been talk of Paqueta and even Madison etc, but they are not really what Conte wants. They are players being offered up by FP as having the skillset to add something to the squad. They are not alternatives to Zaniolo in Conte's mind. I'd actually be less surprised if we went back in for Traore than if we moved for one of the others, but that's just my opinion.

I wouldn't be surprised if we just kept our powder dry and waited to see what presented itself late on if Zaniolo isn't possible but again that's just me guesstimating.

Not sure why we already haven't moved on. I thought that was Paratici's MA?

I could totally see that. I wrote elsewhere: because there's no burning need in the squad, we can afford to wait for the right player, rather than just any player

Given Kulu’s importance to the team, I think we cover in that position. Moura doesn’t stay wide and tends to get in Harry’s way. Richarlison is better coming off the left side or central. We can’t expect Kulu to play every game so hopefully we get someone in.

Interestingly on the football ramble Nikki Bandini said Roma do need to balance some books and Zaniolo probably isn't in the starting XI.....Jose has said he wants to keep him but at the same time the board would like the money. Seems like time to play the oooooool waiting game.

In which case we don't need to walk away we can just keep talking keep the pressure on without being concerned about losing out on another option and hope it comes off.
Not the worst position to be in.

It’s a position we are rarely in but a consequence of us actually getting our ducks ? in a row and doing business early for once, now we will have a lot of power later on in the market as we won’t be desperate for certain players or positions so can just react to the ever changing transfer market merry go round.

I think we need another attacker, but I also wouldn't be surprised if we held onto our cash for January. That market is going to be huge this year because of the world cup and the potential fall out from that. We might need to spend if one of our big players gets an injury or fatigue.

Or, possibly - and hear me out here, maybe multi million pound transfers are incredibly complex and take a lot of time. And, yes due to the complexities sometimes they fall through.
Doesn't mean it will happen doesn't mean it won't happen.
Maybe, possibly, sensitive negotiations don't lend themselves to hourly updates.....
I love how you still got a negative rating for this calm and coordinated response.

I reckon they must think along the lines of this…

Pat: 35m
Roma: Higher
Pat: 40m
Roma: Higher
Pat: 60m
Roma: Lower?
Pat: 58.8m + a signed poster of Harry Kane
Roma: Perfetto. Azzeccato. Il signor Zaniolo è già su un aereo per Londra! ?

Was just a bit condescending tbh, people have been ganging up on DodgyLasagne recently and it's a bit unnecessary imo.
