I wonder if the structure of the Porro deal (i.e. paying up-front or spreading over term) will decide if we go for Zaniolo? That could explain the delay?

Knowing what Bournemouth offered, plus reports saying Zaniolo doesn't necessarily want Bournemouth (but sounds like Roma would have accepted their offer) should make it easier for us to just plop down the exact same deal Bournemouth had out there, assuming we want him.
You've not seen this movie before have you?
We will 100% offer less, over twice as long

Honesty it's so sad to see what football has become. The Super League is already here with the Premier League. Bournemouth, relegation candidate with a 12 000 seats stadium can outbid one of the biggest clubs in the world. And probably pay more in salary as well... this will end with a European Super League, with or without english clubs.
It's not that we can't met the fee, we are squabbling negotiating on details.

If we really wanted him Levy just had to put the money down and he would definitely come.

Feels like Roma are trying their luck, seeing if anyone is desperate enough to bite on ridiculous terms.

Starting to tie in with the ITK about it happening late if at all.

They're obviously fishing him about at silly prices so it's a case of holding firm and seeing if anyone else is as stupid as Bournemouth.

A loan with an option, maybe with Lucas seeing the last six months of his deal out there on loan might be a deadline day deal we could get done?

Lucas hasn't played for months.
Is he even training?

Can't see anyone taking him on a 6 months loan as it will probably take that to get him fit

CB is the highest priority but there aren't many gettable options now that could adjust to our system quick enough. Frankfurt are in a title race (as much as you can be against Bayern) and in the last 16 of the CL so won't sell N'Dicka now unless it's silly money, even though he's out of contact in 6 months time. No chance of Skriniar etc.

I say go get Zaniolo as the third signing (after Danjuma and hopefully Porro). CB options will be way better in the summer.

Bournemouth making a silly bid knowing he'd never go there, so that Milan pull out the race, giving us a free run, for us to loan them Spence and Tanganga in return.

I think ?
