Defoe

Barry is playing crap, so did Wright-Phillips. Lennon and Defoe have both done well.

Got it Capello? Phillips<Lennon!

Lennon & Defoe both did the business today when they came on.

Lennon delivered a cross for Rooney that he should have put away and set up the goal for Defoe.

I'll be surprised if they're not involved come Wednesday...probably as impact players.

I cant see how Heskey gets in the starting eleven. He has done nothing so far this season for Villa, and very very little for England. Sure he wins a few flick ons but that just means our defence and midfield can smack some long balls and hide in anonymity.

I dont think Heskey, Gerard, SWP, Lampard or Barry did anything today. Upson and Terry looked ponderous at the back, and when you contrast that to the pace and verve of Defoe, Lennon and Milner you have to wonder what they have to do to start games.

Upson, Carrick and Barry were rubbish. SWP is a more "sensible" player than azza but if you want pure danger and to terrify the life out of fullbacks, it should be azza all the way.

He is currently England's best right winger!

SWP is awful for England. So is Carrick.
Both JD and Azza to start on wednesday is my vote. Even is it risks them before the game next saturday.
I want England to qualify for the WC more than I want us to beat ManUSA. There, I said it.

Well England are going to qualify even if we lose to Croatia, so the game's not that significant. A win would be great obviously, but it's not like we're as desperate as Argentina and Portugal right now

On the other hand, beating Manure would be something we haven't done in forever, and it'd keep our run going as we enter a difficult few weeks without Modric. So I'd rather see us deservedly beat them.

Personally I think Defoe tends to do better as a sub for England. I wouldn't mind starting Rooney and Cole (a better version of Heskey) and then subbing Defoe on early. Lennon should definitely start ahead of SWP, he rarely has good games for England though he's been in good form for Citeh.
