Performance v NUFC smacked of complacency to me.
Perhaps a little. But Newcastle deserve enormous credit. Sometimes a team near the bottom of the table fights like heroes, and that's what Newcastle did. We can't and won't get a good result every week. It is about bouncing back, and carrying on doing the same things which have been very effective so far.

Last week WBA deserved their draw, indeed we could have lost against a side who matched us in fighting for every ball. Newcastle in the second half were better than us at what we usually do best. They fought hard, chased hard and played with belief. We looked shell shocked and ponderous. I don't think it was tiredness but simply because we were on the back foot and so lost the initiative.

Recent games in the league seem to show that there are now many teams who can match Spurs for fitness, non stop running, teamwork etc. We need to find another gear or get Kane, Eriksen or someone firing on there top form

Newcastle were time wasting at 1-0
There's nothing heroic about being happy to only be 1 down.
In fact the twat of a keeper was on the verge of being lynched at 1-1 when he launched a long ball that resulted in the winner.
They are no longer entertainers. They're a championship side trying desperately to cling on.

Performance v NUFC smacked of complacency to me. Seemed the players thought it was in the bag at 1-0 and then looked lethargic in the second half. By the time they realised we were in for a scrap, the tide had turned and Newcastle had the momentum. Mustn't happen to have any chance of achieving our ambitions.

This happens season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season after season, when will they start learning from it ?

Despite our first half dominance and inability to score a second - there was something not quite right about MoPo's selection. We missed Dembele desperately and when things weren't going well for us in the second half we didn't have a plan B.
MoPo's current puzzle...... Carroll just isn't a Dembele. Eriksen isn't functioning to the best of his ability, Son isn't being used the way he should be and Kane's limitations rear up again...he desperately needs competition for his place.
I'm not sure what the solution is - Lamela seems our most dangerous forward alternative and I'd like to see Eriksen more central to Harry...I don't have the answer but I've garnered enough faith in MoPo to believe he will find the right mix.

I think you could see the genuine shock/surprise on the players faces when the 2nd goal went in. I'd prefer to see that rather than see the heads drop or see them lose the plot because as some have said it was complacency that lead to the defeat and I hope this will have reminded them to play all the way to the end.

I think it's fairly safe to say that had Bentaleb, Mason or Dembele been match fit Carroll would have had a 0% chance of starting.

We also have to remember that we have a player out injured who could play that no 10# position (albeit a youngster) too. If Pritchard became fit both Son, Lamela and N'jie would be free to play up top giving competition to Kane

Don't blame Carroll alone. No he didn't impress in this game though he played well in the week. Under performances should also be accoladed to Dier, Erikson and Ali. A lot of the giving the ball away in that midfield 2nd half gave Newcastle impetus.

Not sure where I have blamed Carroll or said anything about his performance at all.

I've simply said that with full range of options to pick from he's the least likely to have started.
