share price isn't the same as cash flow. It's only relevant if we sell the share price has no baring on how much our turnover is, where the prize, transfer or the sponsorship money goes.

Wholey irrelevant.

Question, is the fact we're the only plc in the premiership the real reason we're not investing?

Quick answer is no.

First of all we are investing.

Ask yourself this, of the following clubs of similar stature, with grounds the same or larger who has the best squad?:

Spurs, Villa, Sunderland, West Ham, Leeds, Newcastle, Everton

Also ask yourself of the following three clubs who spend far more each year on players, who has the best squad?:

Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal

We already comply with UEFA's FFP rules, whereas the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and City will struggle (unless they find a loop-hole).

The point is there's a chasm which separates our annual spend on players to the next club up the list Arsenal. We'd have to spend £35m a year more to match them. £50m a year to match the next biggest spenders, Liverpool, and so on up the list.

A club with our turnover simply can't do that, so we invest as much as we can within the constraints of our budget and that has seen us out perform every club of similar size these last few years. For us to get a better team we need a better strategy than our rivals and I think the evidence is that that is exactly what we have.

Absolutely no reason whatsoever - Man Utd were a plc and it didn't stop them. They're also about to IPO on the SGX

We didn't buy because the right players were not available at the right prices

We are a plc in name only ENIC own the vast majority of the shares, from memory over 80%, so in practice we are run like a private company as there is only 1 shareholder to please.

The wage structure may be strict, but our wage bill is still absolutely massive - tens of millions every year.

We're also servicing debt on property purchaes related to the stadium (£60m of debt at the last count I think?) and continuing to make further stadium-related expenditure.

Also, we're currently in the middle of building a new £45m training centre...
