Really think AVB needs to have a word with Ade when he gets back. Stick an arm round him, whatever you need to do. Tell him he's massively important to the team and stick him up top with Holtby behind. We need the big smiley bloke that everyone loved back.

Damn straight Coop. Bassong was a good player and we , both club and fans, conveniently forgot how good he had been and gave up on him. But fans are fickle by nature and such things happen. For our management team to act that way is a bit shit.

Defoe was poor in that BAE situation specifically but he shows he CAN play nice football which is annoying.

Don't forget his lovely little first time flick to Bale for the goal.

I'm not his biggest advocate, far from... Just frustrating to know he's capable but too egotistical.

I agree that he has it in his locker, and by all means, go for glory earlier in the game. Its the last minutes when trying to get a winner/equaliser where players need to think about the team and not themselves.

To be honest you could say that about most of our attackers, but the opportunity was right in his face tonight, which is what has annoyed me.

Anway, game is over, and the scum drew as well. Bummer about everton winning, and we will need a much better performance if we want to beat west brom.

People are moaning about Defoe but surley you must see that the main problem isn't Defoe. He is a striker that thrives on good delivery, when the delivery isn't there Defoe won't produce anything. Feed him some decent passes and he'll bag one or two but he isn't getting the chances.

I agree to an extent, but he had a damn good chance in the first half. Can't afford to miss those ones...

slightly harsh.

The thing is I dont think so, we are a team that has aspirations of 4th or higher, look at all our closest rivals and Defoe wouldnt get in their teams:

Man Utd - RVP, Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck
Man City - Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko
Chelsea - Ba, Torres
Arsenal - Walcott, Giroud, Podolski
Liverpool - Sturridge, Suarez

I would actually prefer every single one of them over Defoe!
Oh and COME ON YOU ROYALS HAHA!!!

Clint Dempsey must never start again. It's been a long time since i've seen a spurs attacking player with such poor touch, vision and general skill. Even when he gets vital goals it somewhat papers over how shit he was playing. trying to think who the last starting attacking player we had was that substandard.
Peter crouch perhaps, but he had a degree of ball control at least, pav didnt have great control but had a lovely cross and he knew now to hit a ball. JJ if you class him as an attacking player of the 2 man midfield, but then he had great pass and ball control, just poor mentality. hmmm its tough!

Bentley is poor but has obvious great technique, he is just what the kids call a waste man.

think i have to go as far back as overweight mido or helda postiga. Had over half a season of him now, Dempsey i'm afraid you are shite, the odd tap in apart, you have no business filling in for Rafael. Poor transfer business as i said at the time, hopefully he'll either be part of some deal tomorrow or Hotlby will start every game from now on

dumb post away if you must but i've seen fuck all from him since september except one decent pass and a bunch of tap ins

Ditto.

He's the sort of player that when he's at another club you see his name keep popping up on the scoresheet so you assume he is a decent player. It's not until you watch him week in week out that it becomes apparent he is absolutely crap. Adds nothing to our team whatsoever, all round play is poor, no link up, no pace and no touch/skill. Jut shows how short we are when players like this are regulars for us.

Before writing-off our player of the season for last year after a couple of shit matches, can people please remember that he's just coming back from a lengthy injury?

I always though it was BS, but I'm starting to understand why we're labelled as 'fickle'.

Player of the first 6 months yes but since christmas last year and including the euros hes looked painfully off the pace and sometimes people need to realise that just because he is english tries hard and puts his foot in it doesnt make him a great player or immune to criticism. Hes not good enough to get us top 4 and you need to realise that playing alongside modric would make lots of dm look good as he always wanted the ball leaving parker 2 yard sideway passes as his only needed creativity. Spurs fans are fickle yes, but some of you need to open your eyes!

We need a striker.

This is the Spurs way. Stock up on world class midfielders and buy no world class strikers to compliment them...

There's a day left and I don't think we'll get a striker TBH. Levy will make an attempt on the final hour to trick us into believing he actually tried. Then the media will go, "Spurs just missed out on Damaio by minutes!"
