I think as we get closer to the transfer window, the speculation that will emerge about our players will make a comical relief.

Walker ... Roma, RM and a few other places TS, this is a joke he is signed and sealed

Modric.. Nothing has changed he may not have signed a new contract, but he aint going anywhere.

Bale and VDV all signed up!!

Here is where Levy has been very smart unlike poor old Arsene who has simply allowed players to leave having not negotiated ahead of time. often we credit the manager with stability, but Levy has changed the course of the boat. We all hated it when Carrick, Keane and Berbatov were all lured away, thinking we were just a selling team.

But now we are on the cusp of something big, a team that is pretty much locked up contractually, a great run so far in the league. Lets be prepared for some of the preposterous claims that will emerge in the press in the next few weeks. And for once we will not panic but just laugh!

It was rumored that Modric will reject the new salary (100k) :violin: with Spurs.

why? to go to a lesser club like chelsea? silly modders if that was true.

it was never about ambition for him....well in a way i suppose becoming mega rich is an ambition.

he said before the season ended last year that he had no reason to leave spurs even if we failed to qualify for the CL again because he thought he could achieve success here so was happy to sign a new contract

couple months later, oh chelsea are my dream club blah blah blah.

his performances have been epic this season, but i havent forgotten what a greedy snake in the grass he truly is. he wants those chelsea gold coins, make no mistake about it

Modric could be the fulcrum of a new regenerated Chelsea and that is how AVB will land him if he gets the chance.

If Anelka and Lampard plus Drogba and Alex are being hounded out they without doubt will be replaced with younger versions. Modric will see this opportunity as a far better paid, more opportunistic move with realistic chances to win silverware.

Meanwhile, Spurs wil continue to grow stealthily and healthily, without CL money or a 50000 capacity stadium for lucrative and essential income. If Modric goes, Spurs will find the next Modric. Tottenham is bigger than any player to play in our shirt.

I some how think Daniel Levy has other plans, he has made it clear that Modric is not going and if Modric does not sign so what he is still worth the same amount of money in the summer, the point of this post is to make clear that the press will make silly sounds and some peeps even on here will listen to them.

Modric needs to learn one important lesson about his new friend Kia!! Kia is a second hand car salesman who has dropped his mate Carlos in the shit. Ambramovitch is an autocrat who will shoot Boa constricted faster than you can say "das Your done yer!"

But if one makes there living bottom feeding what the press has to say then rumours are all the rage!

Tonight, Shitty and Manure were dumped into the Ropey League, with luck we will be out of Europe completely and focused on a prize Spurs could only dream of 12 years ago!!

If Modric gets an offer of 100k from us and turns it down when we are doing this well I'll be surprised...or not!

Either way he'll have to wait until the summer because there is no way Levy will sanction it in January and threaten a potentially record breaking Premier League season for us.

....and he'll be moving to a side below us in the League if he goes

That gives him 19 teams to choose from then!

The way things are going so well at Spurs, and less so at Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in the league. Factor in City and United's exit from the CL.

If Modric's agent is really looking after his interests, he will be telling him to carry on playing so well for Spurs and see what happens at the end of the season. Levy will not sell mid season anyway.

Nowt to worry about. From his and the agents point of view he will not be worth less in the summer, from our point of view he could have acheived CL footie / a trophy by then. Win / Win for both parties for him staying to the end of the season. Why would he leave for Chelsea if ginger beard gets sacked and they fail to qualify for the CL?

Yeah right. Because finding the new Modric is easy. Making our rivals infinitely stronger while selling them one of our best players and making ourselves weaker is fine. We'll get over it.

I greatly admire Luka and we're definately better with him but if we could get Shaqiri (unlikely) would you be tempted to sell?

This has turned into a thread about Luka.

Walker, Bale and VDV cannot go - they simply cannot.

Luka can go if an extortionate offer comes in from a club in China or the Middle East.

All our difficult challenges from now are off the pitch. Keeping Modric settled during the window and then H's court case comes with a week of the window still to go. We have the best players not at the European Giant Clubs (Barca / RM/ Munich) and pay the lowest wages so all our influential players will be targeted. Then the day after the court case starts we have our hardest run of fixtures of the season. It's going to be a bit of a roller coaster.

I think its a bit of both. Chelsea are an established CL side. They've had a bit of a bum run this season, but they've just won 3-0, 3 games on the spin, when supposedly under pressure.

We're ahead of Chelsea for a couple of weeks and everyone reckons we're massive and so much better than them? It's a joke.

They finished 2nd last year and I will bet you they push us right to the final game of the season for a spot, be that 2nd, 3rd or 4th, that is, if we even maintain this form.

Modric in Chelsea's team, with a couple of new defensive additions suddenly become a potential title winning side IMO.

But G, you could also flip that on it's side, Modric in Tottenhams team, with a new striking addition suddenly become a potential title winning side.

I know that you are edging on the side of caution wth us at the moment, but don't be so down on us. We actaully do have something big brewing here, why can't we emulate what Chelsea want to acheive?
