BBLG - are you trying to make the pain even more raw ?

If we hadn't sold Waddle due to the financial problems we encountered due to deciding we could run our own sports brand (Hummel) then we'd have probably won the league...

Waddle went on to help Marseille win the European Cup, again for you youngsters that was the proper cup for champions winner only before all this Chumpions League nonsense

There's been a lot over the years, some mentioned on here already.

Would also add Spurs v Getafe, Jol's last game, everyone in the crowd knowing he was a goner, singing "I love Martin Jol".

I wasn't the only one that cried that night.

Oh yeah, Billy Nic's memorial service at the Lane, that was a very traumatic experience as well.

1987 Semis League Cup. When Rocastle scored their winner I thought I was gonna puke. Didn't go to school for two days. Can still feel the pain now. Ouch

1987 League Cup S/F at WHL - having watched us win at the library it was gut wrenching to lose at home to them, especially as it was that donkey vial quinn that scored one of the goals, even then he would make the most ridiculous constipated pain expressions all the time

Yep, 1987 League Cup S/F REPLAY at WHL - having lead the scum over two legs only to lose it in the last 10 minutes, The only time I have ever left a game early...

vs man city in the cup we were 3-0 up and they got reduced to 10 men, and we lost 4-3, maybe not the worst but definitely the most embarrassing, we just lost the plot

I was at that game. Horrible, just horrible.

That and lasagna-gate.

The Grimsby defeat in 05/06 was pretty hard to take. Considering I was only 15, and one of the only Spurs supporters in the school, I got a fair bit of stick after that game...

But yeah, missing out on the CL place that same season was heart-breaking.

I wonder if I can be held liable for anyone who tops him/herself as a result of this thread.

the league cup of 2002 was hard to get so upset about because we were a rubbish boring team beaten by a marginally stronger rubbish boring team. Football was a loser that day.

For me it's the Evetron Semi final mauling after the brilliant quater final defeat of Liverpool at Anfield. What an utterly shit and ridiculous result agaisnt a team with a fraction of the talent we had that year.

oh and Lasangna

oh and Jols last game. i cried like a fool. a fool i tell you. horrible horrible way for it to end.

Everton 4 1 Spurs

Daniel Amokachi hatrick (I think?)

Everton were rubbish back then but we were so utterly pathetic that game, the first time I've ever hated Spurs and resented the hold they have on me

Daniel w*nking Amokachi, for f*ck's sake

I'll never forget the sheer elation of Pedro Mendes scoring that humdinger in the final moments at Old Trafford to give us our first Sky4 victory in ages - then I'll not forget the bewilderment and instant rage I felt that followed!

easy, losing the champions league spot to arsenal. So close to finally breaking back into the big time, and at the expense of arsenal in there last ever game at highbury to sweeten the pot further but of course turned out to be a day of pure pain, misery and torture!

West Ham game by a long, long way. Felt sick for at least two days after.

So did our whole team.

My worst moment was also when we missed out on Champions League.

Judas leaving was also bad, as was Ginola and at such a crap price.

Losing to Blackburn in the cup final, who seemed massive underdogs, seemed bad.

The FA Cup semi against the scum in 2001 was bad as well, especially as we went 1-0 through Ginger Pele and Pires got the winner, one of his many goals against us.

jol's last game was bittersweet, but it didn't have the nerve-wracking suspense culminating in pain of the 05/06 season. i remember the pub i was in and reflecting on a really exciting season, ruined (for us) at the very last throw of the dice

worst moment of last season for me personally was the 5-2 at old trafford. recently we've had good performances unrewarded against utd (like the 1-1 at home). but we were 2-0 up and playing well. i was at the match and i didn't get over the dreadful penalty decision for couple days. at the time i felt violently angry with the ref in a way i've never felt before, really wanted to hurt him.

Many occasions, how can i pick one

Klinsmann going back to Bayern after just one season. Sheringham leaving for Manure. Those two came to my mind first but i'm probably missing out on more important happenings.

First time I've ever felt utterly disgusted at the way referees handle themselves in high pressure situations like that. We've had bad decisions before, but one like that has never changed the face of the game, or title race, like that at all.

Another game at Old Trafford where we had a fantastic performance was the 1-0 defeat. Nani scored that screamer, we had two penalty claims turned down. I remember Berbs was at the centre of both. A handball on the line by Wes Brown is the one that sticks out for me.

Oh, and Mendes goal that wasn't a goal.
