Nuno Espirito Santo saluted our youngsters for their roles in Saturday’s pre-season match at Leyton Orient.

The Head Coach utilised a large number of Development Squad and Under-18s players during the 1-1 draw at The Breyer Group Stadium, with many senior campaigners not yet available following their exploits at this summer’s international tournaments in Europe and South America.

Hoping we get some rotation with the youngsters over the next 2 games so Nuno can get a better look at who could be used.

Some are obviously closer to the first team than others, and might feature in more or all 3 games.

Some looked closer to the first team than the first team ?

I am not a fan of the taking off the starting eleven and then replacing them all midway second half. You learn nothing about how the youngsters play together with the seniors.

Had the exact same thought. But then I figured maybe Nuno was thinking that the youngsters he introduced in the second half were used to playing together in the junior ranks, so may have been less disjointed than mixing them in with the seniors for now?

Also, there's probably a good chance that some of the senior players that did start the game may not be here when the transfer window closes. So perhaps we'll see youngsters mixed with seniors when the big boys return to the fray?
