Nuno Espirito Santo and Eric Dier have been nominated for the Premier League's first monthly awards of 2021/22.

Our new Head Coach Nuno is shortlisted for August's Barclays Manager of the Month while central defender Eric is in the running for EA Sports Player of the Month.

Doesn't this show how poorly we rate our own players. People are upset we didn't replace Sanchez and Dier and here we see 3 clean sheets in the league and Dier nominated for player of the month

He'll make one mistake at some point, as all defenders do, and the 'fans' will be slagging him off again in no time.

I think it’s in spurs fans culture sadly to identify at least one of the squad for Excess criticism. If it’s not dier and Sanchez it’s winks, Aurier, Doherty, trippier, Davies, Rose, sissoko, Jansen, njie, N’Koudu, Vorm..... I could go on

Genuinely think this is one of the biggest reasons why the club underachieves as often as it does. At any other club, Dier would be a club legend for the service he's given.

All football fans have a scapegoat in their teams

*cough*Carrick*cough* (until Utd bid £18m for him when fans collectively realised that actually he was key for us)

I don't think it's just spurs fans though. Every club has their scapegoats.

you’re probably right but I feel that with spurs players once they’re a scape goat it’s harder for them to redeem themselves with us
