I see what you're getting at. Thanks for it, but I'm not sure how that would looked on by the publisher.

I'm not sure if they would discriminate against you. If you bought copies from them at the same price they sell to bookshops, in effect becoming a micro-bookshop yourself, I can't see why they'd object, they'd get paid the same either way and you'd push your own book a lot harder than an indi. It would also give you an opportunity to sign each one, something that the other bookshops wouldn't offer
