I used to love Kaboul. Not sure what happened but will always remember him fondly for his role in some good times, and great games.

It's a massive shame for us and him. But what part of crocked do Sunderland not understand?! I mean have they been following his form over the past two seasons or what?

Thanks for some great moments, sadly injuries meant there weren't as many as he and we would have liked.
Hope it's a good move for him.
Meanwhile Levy doing a great job of shifting deadwood this window, hopefully creating room for one or two top quality signings before the window shuts.

At the height of his powers (oh too short at Spurs) an absolute beast, but that's at least 2 years ago now. Unfortunately things like tying up his laces when he should be defending are more a reflection of his Spurs career. However will never forget the 4-4 125th anniversary game!

On his day an absolute beast but those days were sadly very few and far between. Seemed to lack concentration and application. Hope he does well at Sunderland though.

Such a shame he never reached his full potential.

Had everything that a modern defender needs, speed, strength, technical ability but what he lacked was the defender's instinct.

His positional play was poor, lacked concentration, when he first arrived he wasn't brave enough. He did improve, during the 2011/12 season he was excellent, holding our back four together but through no fault of his own he was injured and unfortunately never came back the same again.

The best way I can describe him is by calling him King Bramble, he had essences of Ledley about him which were followed by moments of Titus.

Thanks for the memories, Villia, Citeh and Arsenal come to mind but I still feel a bit hollow thinking of what could have been.

The sad thing is there's a lot of players over the recent past fall in the same bracket.

Shame he never reached his potential, was delighted when we got him back, thought he had matured massively and was ready to be a good CB. Him and Vertonghen could have been a really solid athletic partnership. Nevermind, Sunderland can continue buying our deadwood.

like the officical statement. "all the best" kind of sums up how people felt about him at the end.

What part of passed medical do you not understand? Just because he can't do it for us doesn't mean he cant be as good or better than some of the options for another club.
I prefer to remember him for his performance against Arsenal at their place last season, easily MOTM.

A medical is one thing. The guys had a lot of injuries in almost every season and that's the crux of it.
It's much easier to pass a medical after a season of hardly any football then is to play 38 games.

Woodgate?
Sometimes it's simply worth the risk.

Personally, i think Kaboom was a tank on our defense, when he played alongside Daws and Ledley, before he injured, imo. But, then he saw himself like he's our number one defender, and keep stubborn, while his skill level drop down

Well maybe time will prove that we on the Community know more than Sunderlands medical team but from me, If I was a Sunderland fan I wouldn't be disappointed as the layout is reasonable for a player of his age and appearances.

I agree.

With Kaboul it is all about partners, for me. If Sunderland get the right partner for him, he could be an excellent signing.
