I don't really understand why they haven't been given squad numbers. We have had plenty of time to sell them if we don't rate them, so why are they still here? There would be plenty of takers, even if we only got 6m for all of them. And if they are staying, they should be given squad numbers. I mean, I can understand it for Lee. Ghaly and Stalteri, but Boateng has only been with us a year and last season everyone was saying that he just needed time. If he just needs time, then give him a squad number and if we're getting rid of him, then why hasn't he been sold yet? It's not like we haven't had the time or opportunity to get rid of them...

I was told, by a ventriloquist using a Bert from Sesame Street mannequin, that he'd heard a dog from the live version of 101 Dalmations had been sniffing around the back door of BBC television centre last week and caught Lawro and Lineker giving a rather ambitious reach-around a go over a Bywaters bin. At one point they swapped over and the dog heard one of them say that he'd heard, from his milkmans window cleaner, that Berbatov was, in fact, a canary wearing a rather elaborate disguise so anything he says can't be considered fact as it's most likely mimicry...

No, what he actually said was that it'd be a dream to play for Manchester United, and he said that before he even came to Spurs - look once again where this story appears to have been born too - the Daily "F*ck it, let's just stir some sh*t" Mail.

The story is just one more tiny bit of wank in this whole saga - i'm a Spurs fan but, if i was a footballer, it would be my dream to play for both Spurs AND Barcelona at some point - does that make me any less of a Spurs fan? Not at all. Berbatov isn't a Spurs fan, he's a player who wants to achieve things - if you want to hold him to account for everything he's said or done before he came here then there's a certain pair in Mr O and Mr Bentley who both trained with the Woolwich academy as youngsters :shrug:

Please, people - look at the sheer quantity of stories on Berbatov, notice the difference in them and wonder at their validity. Look at the similarities between them and figure where these stories have been poached from.

It's just one more chapter in this f*cked up saga which i don't doubt is a load of old tits. If he'd actually handed in a transfer request then we'd know. So far it's been claimed by one or two "news"papers who are all probably relying on the same "source" (i.e. the post boy, the window cleaner or possibly the woman who stocks the tea and coffee machine).
