Ok.
So, considering the Olympics took place around about the height of the tourists season, how much higher at that point of the year was it than the preceding 10 years?
What's the estimated sterling income related directly to the Olympics and what was the final bill for hosting it including all of the build costs and subsequent conversions?

With all those supposedly clever people making legacy claims it's has to be gross misconduct of the first degree...heads should roll. Wet Spam are laughing they've been given a free stadium.

Can anyone remember the conditions with ManC and how they acquired the Eithad did they have to pay towards the conversation.

And this is the NEWS Forum which is the only one non-members can see

Thanks. That was the first thread I've ever started, so I'm not in the least bit surprised I put it in the wrong place! Although to be honest, I'm not sure I understand the distinction between this type o conversation and all the others that appear in other threads that are not open. I didn't appreciate they weren't open either. So much to learn!

Yeah its disgracful that the gov spent money on an olympic games that yielded the economy TEN BILLION creating thousands of jobs in the process

West Hams inflation linked rent will pay the 200 mil over the lease. The gov can still host events there, and the local area will benefit.

Do you know why we need austerity?? Because our country is educated by click hungry, 12 grand a year journalists.

West ham's rent does not cover the cost of running the stadium so Karen Brady told WHU fans on a Q&A on their own website.

According to the Wikipedia page the club paid half of the conversion cost of £40m. However it was both intended to be a permanent structure and also to be converted after the fact. Most of the OS was never designed to be permanent, only the lowest section which would have had a capacity of 20k and was originally intended for Orient.

You put your thread in exactly the right place (y)

The News Forum is for non-members to suck them into the opiatic labyrinth that is SC :angelic:

And for the front page lurkers who don't want the excitement of Spurs Chat or the roller coaster of the "any deviant subject you can think of" threads in the Chat Forum

This has been a public service announcement on behalf of the management ;)

This whole thing is an absolute disgrace.
Public money to pay for WHAM to get a new ground?
Heard they've contributed 17m. Whoopee doo.
Who have those fkers got in power pulling the strings for them, Darth Sidious?
I thought it was against football rules for teams to use public money?

Yes I think it is.
Also against FA rules for a big club to encroach on a smaller club, in this instance Leyton Orient.
And I believe there are some EU laws, can't remember what, are also being broken.
But it's still going ahead.
As I said, someone with some serious fkin clout is behind this.

Cheek of Boris trying to blame Labour for this f up. The stadium was perfectly fit for purpose. To hold the Olympics then be reduced in a capacity. Yes it would have cost a couple of mill a year to run. But summer concerts would have paid for that. Now we are looking at a bill of £272m to convert it? Fuck off.
