I thought levy said we would build the same stadium as the original in tottenham, and knock the OS down...

Yes, but the current stadium that is there is 85% temporary. The only bit that was supposed to stay after the games was the base level bowl. This would be taken out and we would used their structural groundwork.

Doubt we'll have to change our name but to be honest I supported Spurs because it was a closish London team (I live in High Wycombe) not because of any great affinity with Tottenham (the place). I wouldn't like Stratford Hotspur but i could live with London Hotspur.
How many times do people have to reiterate that there is more chance of everything in the movie 2012 coming to pass than Spurs having to chance their name?

Seriously guys, it won't happen.

That said, I must once again repeat the concerns we have about the viability and deliverability of the NDP. The cost of consent has been high. This is not attributable to any one stakeholder, but is rather the result of the cumulative nature of the various obligations. We have worked well in partnership with Haringey Council and I should like to thank them for their support in reaching this stage in the process.

No progress has been made with the remaining land owners and this is a potentially costly issue. As such, we have yet to conclude the site assembly. Compulsory Purchase Orders are of course one route to resolving this, but that process is uncertain and can take years to conclude. So, in some ways much has happened and in others, we are still determining new stadium plans.

Our guiding principles remain the same – we are committed to taking this Club to the next level and an increased capacity stadium is central to that intention; and we have to seek a stadium solution which does not undermine the financial stability of the Club or its ability to continue to invest in the First Team.

Who, in the wide wide world of sport, could have foreseen all of this on SC? Now you know why I have a catchphrase.

I've been a season ticket holder at WHL for six years now and it will always have the nostalgic feeling of that first time my Uncle took me.

However, the fans have to move with the times as the Club have too.

A 36,000 capacity stadium for a Club of our size and potential is not enough, most of the big boys home and abroad double that revenue every single week and we if we want to compete, we have to address that.

Daniel Levy runs this Club superbly well, better than anyone else in the league in my opinion and whichever decision he decides is best for our Club we should get behind it.

I will continue to support, follow and attend at least every home game no matter where in the country we are!

It's a great idea to have the dedicated legacy athletics stadium in Chrystal Palace.

It was obviously too large a stadium to be feasible athletics wise long term.

I'm delighted with Levy. I just hope we win the bid! I imagine a lot of fans are going to be heartbroken, but I'm sure they will forget all about it once they see how spectacular it's going to be. The fans should be happier if anything, more seats is pro fan. I didnt think our planned stadium had enough seats to be fair to us. It was more set up for boxes etc.

This also shows how powerful Lev is when it comes to fans. One well written letter, and I get the impression he is swaying 1000's of fans to reconsider.

While I agree with you completely that this is what was intended, this isn't what Joe public see. All they hear is that Spurs are wanting to level a stadium that cost a whole shit load of money just to build another one. What makes it worse was that it seems the OS was built from materials with a lower carbon footprint, which cost more, to be environmentally friendly.

This will be the biggest problem IMO, public opinion and could sway the decision big time espeically in the current finicial climate.

I think its very unlikely it will change immediately. However i can see it changing 10 / 20 years down the line. I wouldnt be happy with Straford Hotspurs, maybe London Hotspurs is ok.. but whats wrong with just SPURS?

Lol..if we move - londons 2 famous Tottenhams (Tottenham Hotspur and Tottenham Court Road) - will both not be in tottenham. I already know of quite a few away fans / neutrals who have gone to games thinking they had to get the train to tottenham court road.

Oh.. and on the name again... in 10/20 years time we'll probably be the London Red Bulls or something (hmm maybe not RED Bulls) - maybe SKY SPURS

in my honest opinion i hope we get this and move, I have been a fan of spurs forever but the area is a dump , there isn't much there and the amount it will cost is huge because of the council and all the other complications.

Also on a selfish factor i can get to stratford a lot easier than white hart lane. Could you imagine getting 60'000 people to white hart lane with the shitty train service, it's hard enough with 36'000

"in our stadium design they would be 8m from the action"

8m! Might as well have the track.

I hope we win the bid, just so we have the option. Levy makes it sound like its far from a done deal, even if we win the preferred bidder status.
