AVB was ahead of his time. They all took the mick when he was stood on the touch line with his notepad.
Theyre all at it now
Football was crap though. It was as if each player had his own part of the pitch and never moved from it.

We weren't boring under AVB.

He played a ludicrously high line.

It was the constantly being demolished by the Sky 4 that I'll always remember from his tenure.

We did alright against the trams below us and around us, but as soon as we played a side with a decent attack, we'd ship 5.
Early days AVB was ok but further into his tenure the football became very boring and toothless and we were a mess at the back and got spanked by the sky4.

I think he did an ok job early on even if Bale was winning games single-handedly but in the end AVB was out of his depth and had to go.

It feels like a long time ago, but I remember the football being quite one paced. That's why Bale seemed like the only bright spot in the side, because when he got the ball things just changed.

The football was indeed boring under AVB but I do miss him hyping up Defoe as his new Falcao and Townsend as equally talented as Bale. I will never forget AVB's second season where Towsend in turn tried his best to channel his inner Bale at every opportunity just to send every other shot into row Z.

From memory I thought he was a textbook manager. Had done all the courses but had no real instinct for what he was watching.

A bit of a bluffer who rode the ‘next Mourinho’ wave for a while before slipping away.

Favourite moment was seeing Fergie and his bright red whisky nose fuming after Dempsey got a last minute equaliser at WHL in the snow.

I think he must have interviewed well!

He was an absolute fraud and had all the charisma of a traffic cone. Football managers aren't successful because they're 'nice'.

I dont watch the pre/post match studio stuff as i find it a waste of time for the most part.

High line or not i was very, very bored with the football we played.

Avb was a strange man who fell out with players
