I just wondered if you were coming at it from the point of view that he deserves more of a chance or if you were offering a discount on some wood and a bag of nails.

I agree, mistakes happen to every goalkeeper, you could pick out a number of errors by any one of our goalkeepers. Friedel's problem is that he was such a strange signing in the first place, this mistake will just highlight that to most people (me included). The key thing, as with any goalkeeping error, will be in how he responds. I think he's fortunate the second goal was offside but he's not someone I would consider a weak mental character. Just one that's physically rather old for a position that requires good reactions and agility.
