Higginbottom use to do my local radio station commentary and was very good, it was one of the reasons why he did get promoted to national radio/tv very quickly

The pundits are poor but for me the worst is the ones like Martin Tyler and Ian Darke, I swear they're wearing Liverpool shirts under the suits.

Scholes is coming across well though, just like the rest of the 'Class of 92' normally do. No fear of panning United when it's deserved..

This. There was a lot of good things about BT Sport when it started, and their European football coverage and rugby coverage are still very good. However in the last season and a bit they seem to have catered their EPL coverage to appeal to the lowest common denominator by giving Robbie Savage free reign and resorting to pundits like Ian Wright and Michael Owen who talk a lot but say very little worth listening to.
There is a real shortage of quality pundits though. Gary Neville is so far above everyone else. Higginbotham is excellent and Jenas started out well but is wasted on MOTD because the pundits get so little time most weeks.

I tend to find that all the guys doing European league commentary/punditry/coverage come across better. They are usually more articulate and less "if I shout louder then you then I'll win the argument" right? I'm pointing at you Jamie Redknapp

I'd go as far as saying he's even worse than Owen on co-commmentary... now that's saying something

I think its because they are actually proper fans of the team so don't mind putting the boot in. Its not like a lot of the liverpool and arsenal pundits who don't slag off their team just because they played for them and then became fans. Its a bit different.

Robbie Savage is a clown but this sums up everything that is wrong about JT. So petty that he even has to address a no mark like Savage - who to be fair is doing his job and giving an opinion. And So know JT is saying that if you havent played at a higher level than him you cant call him out for playing rubbish? Shows what its like in his world. Your top dog or your a no one!

Though he always comes across as a fair, decent and intelligent guy.
I like him, as I do most ex goalies for some unexplained reason.
