I have 1 share. Every October I get a cheque for 4p and every
year I que up to cash it in. Always winds up bank staff.

You get financial reports as well so you can see how much money
really goes through the club. They used toshow the directors
pay but now it seems to get clumped together under all salarys.

I have 1 share myself and also get the cheque but as I live in Norway I just save them up. Maybe in a 1000 years I might cash it in for some money :p'

The financial reports are a good read though :)

Do we have any share holders on the forum?

I've been thinking about xmas pressies and thought about getting shares in THFC. Only a few for fun (~£150 worth) but maybe get more on my birthday/another christmas over the next few years. Only for a bit of fun really but would be nice to think if the share price goes through the roof if we win the league in the future.

Is it worth it?
Do I get any privledges as a shareholder?
Does anyone recommend a place to get the shares through?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Punky,

I have a few thousand shares. I purchased 100 shares when they were first offered to the public and have increased my holding though a rights issue, shares split and the remarkably profitable preference share conversion.

Historically, the shares have been profitable. Including the initial purchase, rights issue and preference shares*, I have invested about £400 and my holding is now worth about £1700. If I add in the dividends, the value increases to around £2000.

Generally shares in football clubs are not great investments and I wouldn't recommend a significant investment. With Spurs, the shares could be undervalued if we make it into the CL but that is a big IF.

I don't regard my Spurs shares like a normal investment. I just like owning a miniscule part of the club.

Privileges? Sorry none that I'm aware of.

I use Hargreaves Landsdown to purchase shares but you can do it through your bank or the internet. Dealing charges are going to be in the £10-£15 region; best shop around to get the best deal.

*The Preference Shares issued after ENIC took over were particularly profitable although many shareholders chose not to take them up. Each shareholder was entitled to purchase 1 Preference Share at £250 for every 500 shares held. After three years, each Preference Share converted to 1562 ordinary shares. £250 turned into £1250+ in three years.

I bought one...I have the certificate framed and on the wall.

The frame cost 16 times as much as the shrae,

With share splits and what-not I think it's now five.

There was a recent communication to all shareholders which asked if they preferred hardcopy financial reports, otherwise the information would be accessed off the site. So only those that ticked the box and replied will continue to get a hard copy. Makes sense really as anyone with just one share got a copy and most likely chucked in in the bin.

:eek:mg: you mean to tell me, after all the hard work i put in getting the stuff right, you assign it to D13

good man  shrewd move for the pref shares, and you are right many failed to see the exceptional deal that was put out, but soon started an uproar when it was capped.

a cheque would only have a 6 month validity from date of issue.... and cheques might not be excepted in 1000 years?
