I’ve been on the winks out train for a while, but Doherty is the worst player I’ve ever seen us buy. Staggeringly bad
At one point the commentator said "Doherty is so dangerous in these positions" or something similar. Was such lazy comms and clearly on auto-pilot based on his reputation at Wolves.

I genuinely don't think Doherty has looked dangerous once in his entire Spurs career, beyond the chance he had against Everton on his debut.

Absolutely abysmal almost every single time I've seen him.

I'm pleased Winks started as it gave us our scapegoat for the game. Just makes life easier eh?
They've all been terrible, but he literally gave the ball away, dived in and totally missed the tackle, left us wide open.

He's been atrocious for about 2 years now. He's not a scapegoat. He just needs to go.

The same people writing this tournament off will be the same people in a few years complaining that we missed out on CL due to lack of coefficient points.

CCV, Winks, possibly Davies, who else?

Not that much really.
Much more so good young prospects and other players who need gametime

Doherty too imo, plus Sissoko & Aurier means we still have plenty to shift.

But yeah I agree the rest of the line up need game time.

We look like a team that's never played together before, which is what we are. You can't just stick 11 individuals on a pitch and hope they gel it just doesn't work no matter how good some of those players are. Only positive from that half for me is Gil who had some nice moments. Lo Celso and Winks very disappointing, Doherty still incredibly poor.

that may be true, but the least you'd expect to see is some individual bits of quality. bar a few flashes from Gil, nobody has done a single thing of note.

If this lot is backup then we better hope we get no injuries, Gil the only bright spark in a completely turgid performance.

Romero is probably just in utter shock at how shite some of the players around him are. From CL and Copa America to CCV, Doherty, Davies and being shielded by Winks.
Most of his mistakes have been his own doing.

Well that was pretty bad, some real awful individual performances out there, John, sessegnon, lo Celso (although he got better).

Winks got worse as the game went on, ccv was at fault for the goal and looked pretty poor in general.

Bryan and Scarlett look lively but are not getting the ball earlier enough (or at all in Scarlett's case).

The midfield 3 really need to step up. Some glaring mistakes from all three, winks for the goal.

Yeah, I think CCV would be the one to track him there. His badly timed step-up threw off the whole back line

Yeah the commentator was giving Romero stick but it looked like Romero glimpsed CCV going with the runner and decided to face up the runner but CCV then tried to step up and fucked it.

I don't see the point in us staying in this competition. We clearly won't go far playing our squad players, so maybe best to get out now before we end up playing loads of pointless games.

It’s pretty much gone to expectations as it stands. Nothing surprising or particularly worrying that we didn’t know about.

cant blame romero his gone from playing with Messi, di maria, paredes, aguero to doherty, winks, ccv etc in a space of a month, would be a shock for all of us lol

Calm down people. Going out of this is a blessing. Focus on the league and a domestic cup. This tournament is a joke and a massive distraction.
Not a distraction for our fringe players and youth. Could probably earn us about 10 million quid if we get into the groups based on the prize money and ticket/beer sales.

He was good at playing high up the pitch at RW and running behind the striker and scoring goals and has never really being giving the opportunity to do that with us

He fundamentally lacks the technical ability to play that position. He doesn't have close control and he can't beat players.

come off it, he's looked bloody dangerous everytime he's had to defend.
