Was he taken off at half time because of injury or was it a tactical change does anybody know?

Might be a blessing that he didn't have his best game today. Hopefully Fergie will decide against his standard summer bid on our star man.

Now for Luka to have a shocker at OT

It is not the same with Jenas - I had hoped we had sold him... I would like to replace Jenas, if it was possible.

Sadly Wilson looked a step slow today along with a number of our players. Seems the international break came at exactly the wrong time for us and it showed. He was not far from being sent off and had the longest trip around the globe so was a bit soon to be starting him - tho Jenas did well when he came on I thought.

Passing was sloppy for large parts of the game and besides JD who pretty much had 1 chance and took it (awesome goal) we weren't quite clinical enuf when you HAVE to be against Man Utd.

Crouch struggled with his touch at times but he still did fairly well. Keane was virtually non-existent but left wing is not his position.

We need a good week of training and then back to the 11 (swapping Niko for Luka) that had played first 4 games.

Nothing to worry about tho :)

Once again we, and the ref, were bullied by Man U. There were so many fouls against Spurs players that went uncalled, and our players also let themselves be outmuscled off the ball. Passing was horrible for the most part, and Man U looked like scoring any time they mounted a serious attack. We did look better with Jenas in the game (oh for a rested Palacios and Jenas combo today), and Scholes getting sent off helped, but once again we failed to capitalize. I'm sick of taking the lead against them and still losing. I wish for once we could put them away. We desparately need another enforcer in the middle to back-up Palacios, or play when he gets suspended, which is coming soon.

Can't believe Jenas is getting criticised. He did well when he came on, and was one of, if not the best player in the second half for us.

Keane was anonymous for me playing wide left, with Kranjcar on the bench. I didn't understand that one.

I thought Jenas was really good when he came on too. His curling strike into the top corner was class. Only a top drawer save denied us what would have been a very timely equaliser.

Palacios was most likely taken off since he was on a yellow, and he had just gotten back a day earlier after a late game and a long flight. Iirc, he usually has a poor game after internationals (he was subbed by the second half under Bruce too), probably doesn't travel well.

I prefer Jenas and Palacios against top 4 teams - I remember JJ in particular having a very good game against Chelsea at home last season, and we need more mobility and a stronger defensive presence in midfield against top-class midfields. I like Hudd, but he has his weaknesses.

We shouldn't start three strikers - it didn't work for us last season with Pav/Keane/Defoe, and I doubt if Keane will magically transform into a left winger anytime soon. Niko in for Modder's position please, though I understand it's not his best position.

I think Jenas is a better player than Huddlestone and a better option to have alongside Palacios.

Totally agree. Jenas will suit the pressure game Harry wants us to put on the other team as he has the legs to get around the pitch and will score more goals from midfield then Huddlestone.

I don't mind who'll play alongside Wilson but with no Modric in the team we lost
our strongest point that we have so far this season which is attacking. When we
can't do that Wilson will be the only one in the midfield to deal with the opposite.
If we can't find someone who replace Modric which arry believed Keane would do
someone who can tackle, run should start along with him.

can we not overreact. we didnt play great. if crouchs header doesnt hit the bar it would have been 2-2, they would have been on the back foot shi**eing themselves for the last 10 minutes.

yes we didnt have best performnce, yes palacios had a bad games(even hoddle used to have a bad one once in a while) yes we were playing last seasons champions.

keep in perspective. decent performance next week even if we lose we will be close or in the top 6 still and then the next 4 games after that are all winable

+100

anyone who thinks different amazes me. Jenas has been an England international for 7 years, be it a squad player.

How many caps does hudd have?

We were just to naive playing with Keane on the left. IMO O'Hara should not have been loaned to Pompey. These are the sort of games O'Hara is needed to add more steel, and passion.

It was just pitiful seeing us crumble.

I don't see it as "crumble" we were just out played. How many times do you think in training Harry had Keane on the left? my guess is none. So why play him on the left especially against the champions!
