Paul Mitchell has shared that he took ‘a lot of criticism’ when Tottenham Hotspur initially decided to sign Heung-min Son in 2015. The former Spurs recruitment expert added that he was once told by a staff member, whilst watching the players train, that Son ‘wasn’t a good finisher’, but he told that individual ‘you are wrong’.

Fails to add that he took rapturous applause from the entire recruitment division when recommended Clinton N’jie.

Well if he knew Son was going to be the player he's evolved to be, why hasn't he tried to get him for one of the other clubs he's been at since?

Son's never played more matches in a season than 17/18, so I can understand that it would be a bit hard to get him to Leipzig that summer...
