I thought altered images were protected under fair use type legislation?
The UK Copyright Law has no fair-use provision I believe. I seem to remember it being one of the major points of the Anti-Digitial Economy Bill group.

A&C replied that he didn't think there was either. If so, that's wank. Not that I'm surprised, given the state of our libel laws for example.

If it's of use to anyone, A&C seemed happy enough about links rather than direct posting. To err on the side of caution, I'd suggest 'broken' links as I've used above.

I'm unsure on which laws apply though. Is it the laws of the country the image is copyrighted in, the one that this site is hosted on, or what?

Azrael, your services are needed!

That's one of the major problems with copyright law mate, it was written by the legislatures of each country for the purposes of that country, in a time when it was more difficult to breach copyright because to distribute it en-masse, you effectively had to be a publisher or media company.

The internet has broken down those barriers, now anyone can publish, in a number of ways and locations it makes the old laws look dated and useless and often leaves people not knowing exactly where they stand in relation to copyrights, and in relation to what is and isn't public domain.

I think that, generally speaking, and this is only my interpretation, that copyright laws in both the country of the owner of the account/server and the country where the account/server is located must be observed.

If for instance, we started posting photos from the NFL, I'm pretty sure that pretty soon, the rights holders to those images would contact SpursCommunity's hosts to request removal, if an approach to Rob wasn't sufficient to have them removed.

Since bale copied the heart celebration. Pav has done the thumb pointing at his name and now raising his shirt on the end of the flag. My guess its getting his name out there, also the better the celebration the more likely he will feature on the sky ads.
