So shoddy the way Pellegini's been treated. Between Pep shooting his mouth off, and City's owners not having enough class to keep quiet about their new Galactico coach, they've shown him real disrespect.

And there's nothing earned in this signing. No hardship or difficulty, either financially or in terms of sporting risk-taking. It's just look around for the shiniest bauble, and throw down the cash. I'll bet Mansoor and his henchmen are high-fiving, like they've actually achieved something, but they haven't. It's just as soulless as Qatar 22, or all the F1 they now have in the Gulf, or all the other sporting events they're buying. It's gross and morally corrupt and leaves a really bad taste.

I hope he fails tbh. I reckon I could manage Barcelona, Bayern and then City and win trophies.

Yes its much easier to manage one of the big two in la liga but people tend to forget what he did other than win trophies at the club. He created an all conquering team in Europe with a style of play that many fawned over. He had some big calls to make early too, axing Ronaldinho, Deco and Etoo who were all amongst the world's best at the time. He's well renown for being an innovator, constantly adapting and trying new systems, that should be applauded. After all plenty of decent managers have gone to big clubs and made a horrible mess of things.

All that's a whole lot easier with Messi, being supported by Xavi, Iniesta et al.
Even Luis Enrique (sp?), a man who bombed at Roma won the treble with Barca in his first season. Is he an elite manager?
I'm not saying Pep's a bad manager but I'm not as convinced as some that he's the messiah.

Just said that to some people a few minutes back. Nice to pick the richest clubs with the best quality squads but says little about his ability

Well, if it were true, then Mancini and Pellegrini would have won a lot more than they did. City was an absolute shambles compared to their potential under both of them.

I find his style of football incredibly boring to watch tbh. I like teams to mix it up and be a bit direct and take risks with the ball every now and again. Barca/Bayern bored me to tears at times waiting for someone to do something.

I think it's a very different thing to manage a dressing room of that magnitude in comparison to smaller teams, especially when you're imposing an ethos that's the antithesis of big ego massaging and puts a lot of hard work at the very top of the requirements.

I think he'll make City a lethal force, but will likely start slowly.
