Ivan Perisic is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The experienced Croatia international, 34, sustained the injury during non-contact training, his club confirmed.

He is set to undergo surgery on his right knee before commencing his rehabilitation in north London.

He can really change a game off the bench. Especially important against the clogger low block sides where you need to attack the flanks. Ala SHU.

Hopefully he makes a swift recovery.

Given the length of time he’s out, I doubt he’ll play for us again, gives Gil an opportunity.

Awful news for him, and us really. Time for others to step up maybe. Grab an opportunity.

God that's depressing. He's such a good player and I don't care what the general consensus was, I thought he was pretty decent last season. It's such a shame his Spurs career will end this way, just as he was winning everyone over.

What bastard luck. He has been a great impact sub late in the game and his crossing to the likes of Richarlison gives us a new dimension.
Although he is in the twilight of his career you can see why he has played at the levels he has.

Probably end of his career outside of Croatia and Split. Real shame, he was important for us this season. Reckon it will mean more minutes for Brennan Johnson on the left. Want Santiago to take the step up though.

Bloody shame that, likely to be the last we see of him I expect.

Gonna miss his step overs and dangerous crossing ability, hope this doesn’t end his career.

Reckon he’ll make a decent coach, hopefully we can keep him involved during his rehabilitation and he can continue to pass on his experience to ‘t youngsters

Exactly, I think the biggest loss will be young players learning from him

Oh man that's shit luck for us. Just before the f'kng arse.
Sometimes I think I should support another team and the Spurs would have more luck. Trouble is I stood alone on the terraces at 12 years old- that's 50 years ago!Tottenham is in my blood
