Pretty shite really, isn't it?

What the fuck is Gerrard doing in there again? He just seems to be an automatic choice whether or not he's actually had a great season. :-|

Fabregas may be justified in scraping in due to his number of assists and good form earlier this sesaon, but he's been shite for a while now.

And where the fuck is Rio Ferdinand? The best defender in the league this season without a shadow of a doubt. Scandalous really.

Also, Torres being nominated for young player of the year at the age of 24 is ridiculous. That award should go to a breakthrough player or someone in their first season, not an established world class international player. :duh:

Same goes for Ronaldo.

Sadly, nobody cares about defenders. That's why they never win awards, Cannavaro in 2006 being the only exception I can remember.

Ronaldo is a no brainer.

As regards defenders never winning it, are goalies recognised as defenders? Our own Pat Jenniings won it.

Young Player should go to 21 and under. Including Torres at 24 and Ronaldo at 23 and even Young at 22 is absolutely ridiculous. Instead of them you'd need to pick three from from at Hart, Noble, Anderson, Michael Johnson, Wheater and Anichebe to go alongside Agbonlahor and Richards. For YPotY my shortlist would be Agbonlahor, Richards, Noble, Wheater and Anderson.

The Young Player award is ridiculous this year. I really don't understand the thinking behind that at all.

I make no apologies for my spurs tinted glasses being firmly on but surely Keano or Berba should feature in that list. Keano never gets a mention but he consistently does the business for us. Adebayor could well be a flash in the pan striker, I would put good money on that Keano scoring more than Adebayor next season.

Thats probably the most partisan post I have ever made.
