thats a shocker, if Poch wants him how the fuck has he ended up at the scum FFS
Nothing to do with Arsenal being bigger. It will take a whole lot more than a CL final and qualification to supersede Arsenal and United; honestly we overrate ourselves on the world stage. These teams are still a bigger draw. Bollocks to the fact that players will choose us over them.
I think he's really good but overrated and not as good as Eriksen. I don't want really good players joining Arsenal regardless of if its a loan or not. Its also a big slap in the face for them to continue to make ambitious moves and us sit with our thumbs up our ass.Is it a good thing if he joins them? (I'm no longer understanding if people are keen on the players we're linked too or not anymore)
Well, I'll let everyone else be angry for me. It seems odd that this piece of info drops this morning and now this happens just past lunch time UK time. Pinch of salt and sprinkle liberally over our entire window I suppose.I think he's really good but overrated and not as good as Eriksen. And yes I'd consider Ceballos & Coutinho ambitious moves because it means they are trying to get better and back into champions league. We just don't seem to really give a damn.
Coutinho is a good player and you can't deny his goal scoring exploits for Liverpool - he scored some incredible goals, however, he was often compared to Eriksen during his time at Liverpool and I'd argue that they're really not all that similar as players. Eriksen is a far more rounded footballer and does his best work facilitating for others, chipping in with some excellent goals when required. Coutinho though was always a goal scoring midfielder more than anything else that could provide for his teammates when required and the stats tend to support that. If anything, Dele is far comparable than Eriksen:
Coutinho: 152 apps for LFC, 41 Goals, 37 assists. 1 goal every 3.7 games / 1 assist every 4.1 games.
Eriksen: 206 apps for THFC, 49 goals, 64 assists. 1 goal every 4.2 games / 1 assist every 3.2 games.
Alli: 131 apps for THFC, 42 goals, 32 assists. 1 goal every 3.1 games / 1 assist every 4.1 games.
I think we can all agree that Alli is at his best in the final third and not in deeper midfield. With that in mind, my personal view is that Coutinho is not a player we need and instead Lo Celso, as a deeper lying facilitator is much more what we would need, particularly if Eriksen leaves.
I’m just really surprised Coutinho is only giving it one season at Barca.
GFFN is ran by an Arsenal supporter and a news aggregator like Sacks. He's good for French football news but zero coming out of any Spanish press.
