Spurs eye Bundesliga starlet

Tottenham are considering a move for Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Piero Hincapie as Antonio Conte’s summer revamp continues.

The Italian has already snapped up Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma.

But acquiring a central defender remains his No.1 priority and, having seen a move for Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni fall through, Conte is now looking at other options.

Hincapie has been on Tottenham’s radar for some time and is seen by the club as a player with huge potential.

The 20-year-old, who plays on the left side of a central two, has impressed with Leverkusen, who he joined a year ago from Argentinian side Talleres.

He has also impressed on the international stage with Ecuador, helping them to qualify for the World Cup finals in Qatar in November, and Leverkusen are bracing themselves for offers this summer.

With N’Dicka and Hincapie both linked now maybe it’s true that we’ve decided Bremer + a less expensive LCB is the way to go, rather than spending big bucks on Torres if we can’t get Bastoni?

Some said he’d be hincapieble of making the transition to European football at such a young age but by all accounts he’s had a great season at Bayer.

LCB is a pieroty so maybe something in it…

He's a decent prospect but still incredibly raw.

If he comes in as well as another experienced CB then that would make more sense.

I'd be wary if he was our main LCB signing though - it's the most crucial position we need to strengthen this summer.

Lots of new CB names coming out in the media now. Wouldn’t surprise me if Paratici is close to pulling the trigger

Don't profess to know much about him other than the obligatory Youtube check and whilst we should have in tandem an approach for buying up and coming talent along with players to improve the XI straight away, i'm guessing he's falling into the latter and not an upgrade on Davies.

Guessing unless the financials stack in our favour then we have other more higher profile targets as the first port of call.

Where have you seen us linked with N'Dicka other than a guess to a cryptic that Trix said wasn't a cryptic?

Don’t agree. Ben Davies was excellent last year. Do I want a new LCB? Yes. Was it the most crucial? Definitely not

Well Conte seems to think it is

That's why AG has always said it's the biggest priority to strengthen this summer.
