Does that mean they are going to milk a club for all they are worth for Michu's services then?

Different positions. I highly doubt Aubameyang moves to a PL club and becomes a lone striker immediately. Unless you were alluding to the idea of them needing extra money to make the move. But, I think they will make a good deal off Ashley Williams. It will then become the question of how they replace Williams, and if they had enough money left over to secure PEA.

"The French-born Gabon international was voted the best African player in Ligue 1 and is pursued by clubs including Tottenham, Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund but the 23-year-old’s father Pierre, who also played top-flight football in France, wants his son to work with Laudrup because the Dane is his hero.

Aubameyang Snr met with Laudrup and his agent Bayram Tutumlu in London this week and explained that his son was prepared to join Swansea and reject a salary worth three times more which is on offer at Spurs."

His dad needs to piss off.

Between this and us apparently making his father uncomfortable with our advances, dude needs to let his son make up his own mind.

Ok somebody's got the whole thing totally fucking backward.

Since I trust the Journalist I'm going to say it's that article/the dad, given that makes no god damn sense.

From express.co.uk:

Arsenal and Spurs target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang drops further Premier League hint

ARSENAL and Spurs are still on red alert for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ahead of the transfer window.
Aubameyang is one of the most highly-sought after strikers in the game, and it seemed both could lose out as he had
entertained a summer move to Real Madrid.

The Gabon international had also been linked to PSG, although they have made no official contact.

Aubameyang has once again professed his love for Europe's top leagues and admitted he will make up his mind soon over where his next move lies.

"It would not be terrible if I was to carry on with Saint-Etienne and then be transferred later," he told French publication Le 10 Sport.

"Where would I go? Maybe Germany, England or Italy. PSG is a possibility but I have yet to receive a concrete offer.
"Everything will be resolved after discussions with my leaders. After the Lille game I will have a week before joining up with Gabon - hopefully everything will be decided soon."
Aubameyang was in fine fettle for St Etienne last season, firing 19 goals in 35 Ligue 1 starts.

Sounds like PSG haven't made contact at all, maybe aren't sure they want him yet, good news for us if he is really holding out to see if they make an offer.

Couldn't agree more, I believe the A-Bomb is the perfect fit for spurs

yup. in the perfect world we will have 1cf coming in alongside a WF, allowing us to sell either defoe or ade. but that would also mean we will spend more.

financially it will be the most reasonable to buy only PEA, keep ade and defoe. basically bale, ade, pea starts with both defoe and lennon as impact sub..

i wouldnt be saying no to an additional striker of course, but i feel we should really sort pea out first before we go all out to get a CF

That's the vision though, don't get me wrong I still love both Adebayor and Defoe on their day, but our club is going in a younger more dynamic direction ( Re: Borrusia Dortmund ) and if we were able to sell both on and regroup some wages our PEA and Damiao/Son/Villa dreams don't seem so financially risky anymore. Bale was a 15 million pound gamble and look how that payed off for us. With Holtby, Siggurdson and Lloris settling in nicely, Rose having a stellar season at Sunderland with Walker at RB and with our solid spine of Dembele, Sandro and Kab/Verts combo we might just have a Delicious Line-Up come opening day. First things first though Bale and AVB need to sign their extensions.

I guess, we can rule him out now

“I have met with Rudi Voller (Sporting Director of Bayer Leverkusen) twice but whether or not St.Etienne accept the (Leverkusen’s) offer is a different matter.
Dortmund have been following me for more than a year now (though Aubameyang confirms they haven’t made an offer yet but have told him that they are still interested).
I have met with Michael Laudrup and they (Swansea) have a good project but I need Champions League to progress.”

Could just as easily mean he will only consider joining a club that at least has a chance of qualifying for CL, mate? Swansea are not really likely to, us on the other hand?

I realize it's a moot point if the players have convinced themselves they have to have CL, but do they value it too highly? Seems it should be a MUCH bigger deal for the clubs than the players. There just aren't that many clubs who have a legit shot at winning it, and while it's great to play the top clubs, you're only guaranteed to play against 3 of them.

Couldn't agree more mate. They all seem to say "I want to play CL football", yet unless they move to Barca or Bayern Munich, they're not really going to stand much chance of winning it. Top post AUS (y)

I think the importance of CL for the players is exaggerated by the media. Mind you, we managed to sign both Vertonghen and Lloris without CL to offer. They want to play there, but when a good offer from a non-CL club comes on the table, it seems like it doesn't mean that much.
