So Pulis to West Brom is now confirmed.

Poor Tim.

My heart bleeds for him. But seriously, West Brom would have been mental to go for anyone other than Pulis. Now how long before the "Nah, I turned 'em dahn mate" saving face stories from Timmy...

I also see Hughton has now gone to Brighton.

I really think that's the level Sherwood needs to be looking at, but his name never seems to be linked with Championship clubs. If he thinks he's above the Championship then more fool him, but I don't know if that's the case.

Makes total sense. Pulis did a fantastic job last term with CP.
Lucky guy, Pulis. 56 yo will earn about a million wages plus a million bonus if he keeps them up.
Have a row with the chairman in the summer and a pay off.
If he fails with WBA he will get a relegation gig for the next 2 years at least. Nice pension. Stress free-kudos if he succeeds-no blame if he fails.

For entertainment reasons alone I would love Sherwood to get the job. I am smiling at the thought!

I genuinely did not even consider that prospect, I meant more Bruce to Toon, Sherwood to Hull. I agree though, Sherwood at Newcastle would be magical.

As Bruce has ruled himself out of the running for Newcastle, it really wouldn't surprise me if Ashley cast glances towards Timbo.

But if they decide to go with Coloccini instead, that would be equally funny.

I think Tim should take a role in the Championship to be honest, i think he would do well..but I think Tim may have found himself in a position where he bit off more than he could chew with Brighton....relegation battle in the Championship with a team that has little talent to begin with would have been a really tough ask for Tim to do anything, he just doesn't have the experience....

For some reason i could see Tim's head exploding if Ashley decided to appoint Collocini as manager over Tim....

Wondering this - nobody has really been linked with the toon job. Plus I'm not sure Ashley could get away with appointing another cockney mafia manager. They do love a fan's favourite up there.

I'm sure I remember Ashley wearing a Coloccini shirt in the stands just after he signed with them.

I was listening to the Football Ramble pod earlier and the Newcastle fan on there said that Sherwood was his worst case scenario.

I think it could happen though...!

Actually it's clearly time for a true Newcastle legend to return to the club and steer them to glory.

Step forward Shola Ameobi.
