We started the new year with a 4-0 home win on Peterborough in FA Cup but didn't record another win in January except Fulham at home on the 26th. There were 3 draws, against Birmingham , Hull and Leeds and we lost to Liverpool. Not a good month really when you think about it.

Here are the top five players from last month:

1. Michael Dawson - 90 votes (35.86%)
2. Heurelho Gomes - 75 votes (29.88%)
3. Niko Kranjcar - 42 votes (16.73%)
4. Aaron Lennon - 12 votes (4.78%)
5. Benoit Assou-Ekotto - 8 votes (3.19%)

Voters: 251

Player of the month:
December: Michael Dawson (35.86%)
November: Niko Kranjcar (73.28%)
October: Heurelho Gomes (69.17%)
September: Peter Crouch (15.79%)
August: Aaron Lennon (27.19%)

Everybody vote now.

Bale has been a revelation the past few weeks. A few of us were worried about losing Ekotto. But who would have thought Ekotto might struggle for a place back in the team this season? He has a fight on his hands now. Bale is playing like a young Dani Alves atm. He was one of few bright sparks in January, which turned out to be a pretty dissapointing month.

ps - Great to see the curse lifted.

I voted for Gomez for the first time since he's worn our shirt. The guy has (almost) won me over!!

As for Bale currently leading the pack, I didn't vote for him as he's not been a consistent feature in January's line-ups. That said, if he had been he would have walked it for me.

I went with Gnomes as well - Bale, for me, needs to get a solid run going to show that this isn't just a blip. He needs to toughen up and start looking around.

And leave that f*cking fringe alone!! How many times you have to be told??

Bale the only one who really stands out for me! Most of our players have had a poor month form wise!

Possibly the most one sided poll ever? I also went for Bale. He has been excellent.

He's played every game in the month of January, and was either man of the match, or very close to being man of the match in each one. No one even comes close to winning this.

I voted for Bale. Can't believe how much he has improved as a LB. BAE should now have a fight on his hands to get back into the team.

It has got to be Gareth Bale, and for the substantial improvements seen in his defensive game as well as his undoubted ability going forward.

I obviously voted Bale and it gives me great pride to point out, once again, that I was saying put him in pretty much every side since he came back from injury and Modric got injured (let alone BAE)

:shake:

General Palacios.

Have been pleasantly surprised with his alround footballing ie passing, movement, energy, tackling, has improved beyond belief and his looking the complete package just needs to add goals
