14m€ is Veliz release clause. Let’s see if we do the deal for now or reduce fee further and bring him next season leaving him in Rosario for a year

Know nothing about him but have been praying for the club to follow Chelsea's lead and start taking advantage of the undervalued but very talented South American market for gems.

If we're not going to shell out on top players in their prime (which it's becoming increasingly clear we won't be) then these are the signings we should be consistently making.

Assume it means we won't be going for Gift Orban though which is a shame because I thought he looked an excellent talent as well.

Love that we are doing these kind of deals. Signing young super talents, with a little experience, and allowing them to stay on loan and develop before bringing them over to compete in the squad. Exactly what we’ve done with Sarr and Udogie. It could pay dividends eventually in a league dominated by teams owned by countries.

I’d heard of the name earlier in the year but hadn’t seen any action from him. Ironically I watched his Brazil Scout video on Monday as it was released last week. He looks incredibly talented and made for the premier league.

I saw talk of $15m when scouting through twitter at the news, I think that goes in the category of a great punt. With the changing of the rules post brexit, it seems like the SA markets are being utilised more now rather than them going via Portugal first, for example.

BOMBAZO 🤩Alejo Véliz will be SOLD to #Tottenham Ange Postecoglou. He will share a team with Cuti Romero.

💰 The sale would be made in a number that ranges from 15,000,000 dollars. That is, it would be the HIGHEST transfer in the HISTORY of #RosarioCentral .

⚽️ Milan, Lazio, Napoli and several other teams from the #PremierLeague wanted it in this market.

This might be the first player of which I’ve got an inside track.

I’ve been flying to Argentina over the past twelve months specifically to watch this guy.

Never went to any matches, but I can confirm he is definitely a footballer.

.
Exact same as you in that I’ve never seen him before, but I’m just delighted that we’re back signing players from South America!

Him and Orban would show a welcome change that we actually have a plan in mind. Would be great to get both these young lads in and hopefully they can live up to their talent and become great bits of business for the club.

My favourite type of signing.

The unknown one from a league nobody watches that nerds will claim is the next Messi. I've seen one twitter account say he is just like alverez but not as lazy and another say he is a pure number 9 . Love the internet.

Anyway Tottenham X Argentina just feels right.

(Except for one podgy Judas fraud)

Messi when asked about Argentina's U-21 team and who he thinks are the next emerging talents: "Vega, Perrone, and especially Veliz. Watching him play reminds me of what Suarez used to play like. I am very excited for the future of this country, and hope I can be an influence to these people, and talk to him"
