Hey guys, I don't know if it's safe to post this in here, but I just saw on twitter that some dude named Fabrizio Romano has said "Here we go!" on this one.

If this is not allowed, I'll delete.

Interview with one of the main journalists who has been reporting on the transfer. Gives a good, grounded review of the player.

Would suggest that we're buying him for the player that he potentially could be, rather than the player he currently is.

That makes him sound like a square peg to me.

🚨 [EXCLUSIVE] Alejo Véliz is a new reinforcement for Tottenham Hotspur: the operation is signed with Rosario Central.
* ️⃣ The soccer player is marked in exchange for US$17M plus 6M in bonuses and 10% of a future sale. In the next few days, he will travel to sign for 5 years. #TratoHecho

Yeah that would make sense. No point him stunting his development with us by not playing much.
That jurno in the vid even suggest he doesn’t have all the papers to actually play in the pl until December. Although maybe he isn’t up to date with the latest visa laws here.

If that video is accurate it sounds like we might be looking to send him straight out on loan to a European team.
That would make a lot of sense - except we really don't do loans very well.

If we were sending him out, it might make more sense to leave him in Argentina for the rest of their season, then find him a good European loan in January - so that he would be ready to start with the first team next summer.

Rosario central is a mad name for a football team.

Sounds like a stop you'd see on a train map.

Are we allowed to loan him to a PL club? If so I’d be straight on the phone asking Brentford if they fancy a striker on loan whilst Toney is banned.

Why's Romano talking about this guy like he's a car. Great 03 model, one owner, low mileage. Might make a profit on it down the loan if they can avoid wear and tear.

Seems weird not to let them keep him for another six months.
He'll need to be loaned out straight away, I'd have thought, so I hope we have a decent plan for him.

Maybe Bayern need a striker? :sneaky:

Just what we were all looking for: a centre (forward). Love these signings, to be fair. 🙏🙏🙏

Unless he's going straight out on loan or Kane is going this doesn't make a lot of sense. Richy barely got a game as a striker last season and he's a sixty million pound experienced pl player.
