So looks like Dane Scarlett is back in the nick of time 🫤
Let's be honest he's nowhere near.

No Veliz, Son, Peresic and Soloman is bad luck.

As far as I can see we can go Brennan, Richy, Kulu.

After that though, what do we have, Gil? One sub for 3 positions.

Luckily we only have 3 games in January. Could do with a striker though. Preferably someone big and mobile.

Think Lo Celso was shouting at him from the touchline saying that. Players on the pitch maybe too caught up in the match to notice as it was getting intense?

Richy kept motioning to him from the dugout, to stay down.
Difficult coming from the bench. We needed someone out on the pitch to get him to go down or put the ball out. The length of time he was hobbling on for was shocking really.

That's got to be Sonny really, he is the captain and the nearest player to him.

Two things, firstly I truly commend his commitment and bravery. Secondly he was stupid to do it, and hopefully he will be read the riot act by the medical team. There was a young lad a good few years back that ended his career trying to play on like that with ligament damage.
‘Stupid’? A tiny, little intsy smidge harsh?

Probably was just trying to see if he could run it off. Yes, clearly that was the wrong decision, but when you are in his position, trying to make an impression, sometimes the part of the brain that processes logic is likely distracted by an amygdala being flooded with endorphins. His cerebral faculties could be suffering from adrenaline infused myopia. In short: Just not thinking straight.

Stupid is a word I’d reserve for the other nine outfield teammates (especially the veterans) not literally dragging him to the ground to get him to stop. Only a couple gesticulated he should call for help.

Also watching that video twice, the coaching staff and medical staff, (the two times they span past them) don’t seem to be universally hollering or gesturing for him to stay down. That’s not to say they weren’t when the camera was off them, but from what little I could see from that angle, they didn’t seem to be demonstrating any vociferous urgency. But, if you were there, I’ll gladly take your word that they were on the case and he was simply going Into selective hearing mode!!!

Hopefully he didn’t do more damage. But I get why he tried to soldier on. He’s just a kid. Caught up in the moment. Let’s keep our collective digits crossed that it wasn’t a season ending knock.

I actually said, when he was close to the bench, “you’d think the medical staff would be on the touchline checking on him”. But they didn’t move.

To those who said sonny should be telling him to stay down, you don't know he wasn't, but the game was still in play, so he couldn't exactly womble up to him, ignore the game to have a natter!

Any news on the severity? Rumours of ACL and he looked in so much pain. Feel so sorry for him, just after he recently bagged his first goal as well

Assume we'll find out in the next couple of days. The only rumours I've seen of it being an ACL is just fans on twitter saying "Could be an ACL". Hopefully the brace is more precautionary until they find out for sure what it is so he doesn't do any more damage.

Unsurprising but incredibly disappointing. Feel really sorry for the lad. Hope it isn’t anything that could have long term repercussions.

He just scored in the game prior. Really feel for him, but we have a good group that will support him (especially the south Americans).

Mad man running around after too, could clearly see he was in some pain.

Hopefully recovery goes well for him.

Our injury issues this season has been well documented, but we've had additional bad luck with the same positions being affected at the same time.

- Romero and VDV out at the same time
- 3 to 4 central midfielders out at the same time
- Perisic, Solomon and Gil out at the same time
- As soon as Son goes to Asia, Veliz gets a serious injury

Was lined up perfectly with a goal against Brighton and the FA cup game coming up next.
