You're choosing to believe that.
Yes, based on historical evidence under Levy's stewardship supported by ITK.

I mean, I said from the outside if this is in addition to Zaniolo so I'm not fully jumping the gun here but there's more than a whiff of familiarity over how this transfer window is panning out so I dare say it's not misjudged.

Happy to be proven wrong.

This doesnt mean it cant work out well though.

I actually dont mind our opportunistic signings, we arent chelsea. But we need to make sensible planned signings alongside them, hoping we can do that.
Bang on, the odd opportunistic signing is fine, IF we make a lot of sensible planned signings alongside them otherwise we run into the same squad issues over and over.

Just googled him/saw some clips. If he's signing for us on a last-minute divert loan, I'm 99% sure he's probably shite, sub-par and/or will be misused/not used/will form a good friendship with Djed Spence on the bench. Good luck Arnaut.

Was looked at during the summer, this was an opportunity we didn’t want to lose on. Conte wanted as replacement for LM if he went in summer.
Told an extra not because other targets missed or not happening.
You’re too late bro, everyone’s already spat their dummy out, kicked the dog, chucked the biscuit tin on the deck and are rolling around in the crumbs

I'm not against this signing at all, I mean, how many times have we looked at our bench recently and seen nothing but defenders?
But there is a certain caveat to it, which will probably only be seen come the end of the window.
This lad looks to be a decent, no risk addition but...at what cost?

I'll take him but then again i watched Lee Trundle on soccer AM this weekend and i'm convinced he'd do a job for us.

I have no issue with opportunistic signings but to complement other more pressing signings that the Manager wants.

I dont mind Danjuma, decent player but he wont set the world alight but it certainly beefs up the squad in a very important period.

Forget what I'm saying and just look at the facts, if this was a thing yesterday would he have done his medical and media for Everton?
100% see what you’re saying, but what if Roma suddenly decided to take Lucas as part of a deal for Zaniolo? Or is that being totally ridiculous? Bring him on a pay per play wage?

This was Mourinho on Lucas this summer just gone..

OK, so trying to remain some shred of positivity as its been a looooong day.
This could be the type of signing that many fans would have asked why didnt we try for him if he comes in at Everton and performs highly.
We, as fans, often complain we don't sign players that other smaller clubs sign and they become good. This could be one of them.
Or, he could be a cheap option that the club have chosen over backing Conte.
The coming days will give us the answer

If we'd already signed Zaniolo and Porro and this was a deadline day hijack, we'd be loving it.

I mean maybe the guy decided that signing for a manager less club wasn’t as appealing and so we had an opportunity to sign a decent player and have taken it?

It doesn't and I'm not against the player, just the way we operate.

Signing a player we want: 'Fabio cooking ??'
Signing a player we don't want: 'Levy OUT ??'

Some people need to remember that Antonio Conte is not God's gift to football scouting. Managers have a million other things they have to attend to besides watching possible transfer targets. Salah wasn't even in Klopp's top 3 options the season they signed him.

If all we're going to do is sign players Conte has personally identified then we may as well sack Paratici and all our scouts. Unless Conte is literally in the room saying "No, I don't want him and I won't use him" then it's fine to have a deal that comes more from the club than him personally.

It's January, it's a loan with an option in a position we need help in but clearly isn't the priority to drop big cash (RWB, LCB). We have 4 options for 3 positions up front because Conte won't use Gil, this clearly strengthens our squad. People need to calm down.
