Love these kind of signings. Guessing he won't be anywhere near the first team for a couple of seasons though. 18 is exceptionally young for a centre back.

Maybe, already played Championship footy though and looks to have the build. Moving the likes of Tanganga and Rodon on who’ve plateaued and replacing them with someone like Phillips in the first team squad would be a good move

5 starts in the champ last year, so if he stays, you’d assume 4th/5th choice. Maybe stay until Jan, play carabao etc then find a loan for 2nd half of the season.

van de Ven/Lenglet/Tanganga (biggest ?) - Dier
Phillips

Absolutely refuse to believe anyone who’s 6”4 was born in 2005.

The first Star Wars movie released after his birth was The Force Awakens.

A lot of people?

A lot of people believe the world is flat. Unless it’s anyone with any credibility then it means nothing.

I think they're pointing out that the source itself may lack credibility.

But yeah I read about 3 so you got me my friend 🤣 😘

Having this guy and Dorrington coming through simultaneously would be so exciting for me as an England youth fan! This guy oozes class for his age.

Like who? I can’t see anything.

Look at the original tweet from Nursery and then look at all the replies.

Most are rovers fans though so maybe they're just angry at the thought...

Yep surely he won’t be one of our 4 first team CB’s this season aged 18 he’d have to be pretty special if so.

Blackburn have a sell-on clause for David Raya. It's widely reported that, if he goes for £40m, then they get £4.5m.

However, the club generally considered to be most likely to buy Raya suddenly pulled out of the race.

Oh no. What can Blackburn do now? They needed that windfall for their debts, not to mention their transfer kitty. Surely, the only way forward now is to sell one of their youth prospects.

But who's this rocking up to Ewood Park? Not the chairman of the club who decided not to buy Raya? What a coincidence. And he's interested in one of Blackburn's youth prospects?

Well, what are the odds...

Absolutely all for this two tier recruitment approach and Phillips certainly looks a strong prospect at CB.

However we must be better at development, particularly when loaning players out to suitable clubs so remains to be seen how we nurture through talent like Phillips especially as we have limited games this year with no Europe.

Just remembered we sold Dilan Markanday to Blackburn, hope he's doing well. Anyway, excited about Ash Phillips, seems like he has all the raw attributes to become a really good CB.
