Great game, prefer him to Lenglet on current form. Did however sloppy loose the ball that led to Romero’s sending off.

Lets be honest. We've looked better with him back at LCB.
This. Maybe his name is Ben Davies so people and pundits are not going to go crazy over him. But he actually played very well out from the back whenever asked of him. Very underrated.

Of course I am not saying we shouldn't upgrade on him, but just sometimes he does need some appreciation from the fans. He could well be retiring with us and I honestly wouldn't begrudge him at all. The way him and Stellini hugged at the final whistle showed how much the coaching staff valued him.

I've seen lots of people say this. I don't think the ball was meant for whoever tried to control/miscontrol it. The ball was going to I think Emerson/whoever was in the RB position. Without the touch in the middle I think everything is fine.

Good call from coaches, Perisic needs rotation he can’t be expected to play that role twice a week, good to see Davies play so well at LWB today.

Sometimes really doesn't expect him to be brilliant, when he's solid and steady, he's good enough for the team. A very professional performance from him yet again, switching from LWB to LCB seamlessly.

Problem is exactly that…inconsistent to the point that you never know…okay/good one day ..then cost you the next..But I will say that you can’t fault his effort but for what we are aspiring to become I’m still of the opinion he’s not good enough for us

Reminded me of when Vertonghen played LWB against Dortmund.

Pleasantly surprised, I'll hold my hands up and admit I didn't expect him to play nearly that well yesterday. Thought he'd be very defensive and hold us back somewhat.

Big congratulations to gentle Ben on 300 appearances for Spurs. A consummate professional that never moans or creates drama.

I was waiting for someone to comment on this. Truly underrated for us who didn't get enough recognition becasue he's not flashy or a bigger name. We all know he's not the best in ability, but really can't complain when he's always there for us, big games or small games. He has more good games than bad ones, so I think for me that's really good enough. Better than Perisic at LWB! What more could we ask for? A true professional in our squad. ???

I think we were all doom and gloom seeing our centre back being given this role, but he's risen to the occasion brilliantly.

Ben Davies is the kind of squad player every club needs. Solid professional who gets on with the job regardless of what is asked of him. Wouldn't be against him staying as cover for a LCB or even LWB if needed. Don't think our fans appreciate him enough just because he isn't a world beater.

Yup. He has been a model professional and I think all of us are happy to have him around, it’s more just a case of him being a squad option and not wanting to see him and Dier being in our best 11

He's set up more attacking situations in 2 games as LWB than Perisic and Sessegnon have done in an entire season.
I agree that Davies (from LWB) has been more effective offensively than Perisic or Sessegnon in open play, but Perisic's 9 assists are nothing to be sniffed at, even if they are mostly from set pieces.

been a great servant when you think of it really. Isnt perfect of course but gives 100% every time he plays and never causes any trouble when he doesnt. Sometimetimes i do think he is underrated by some but very rarely lets us down when needed

Is Davies the best defender in the world? No, that's Romero.
Is Davies the best striker in the world? No, that's Kane.
Is Davies the best chef in the world? No, that's Ronald McDonald.
Nice guy though and a great player to have in the squad.

I posted on the Lenglet thread that I'd like Davies to stay at LWB We would then have 2 attacking options in Porro and Udogie and 2 defensive options in Emerson and Davies.

I'd buy Lenglet to cover a new LCB hopefully coming in the summer.
