I posted on the Lenglet thread that I'd like Davies to stay at LWB We would then have 2 attacking options in Porro and Udogie and 2 defensive options in Emerson and Davies.

I'd buy Lenglet to cover a new LCB hopefully coming in the summer.
The only issue with this is it would leave us with 4 LWB’s and we can’t move Perisic on as he’s got another year on big wages and Sessegnon might be unsellable with how injury prone he is. I think the most likely scenario is we keep Ben at LCB, send Lenglet back unless he’s very cheap and have Udogie, Perisic and Sessegnon as LWB options next season with Perisic possibly getting more minutes in the forward line

I did mention in the other thread that I would move peresic further upfield to cover Kulu and try and sell or loan Sessegnon mate

Totally get your points.

we're lucky to have him. he always does his job which is why he has gotten games under Poch, Jose, and Conte. They cant all be superstars.

Reminds me of James Milner for Liverpool. Always ready and willing to do whatever job he's asked and nearly always a 7/10 but rarely higher or lower than that

As Alisdair Gold said - if he's only your 11th best player in your team, you'll have one hell of a team. Love Ben Davies - intelligent, personable, genuine nice guy.

There’s also reguilon coming back from his loan, the most likely scenario is that Sessegnon will be the one staying due to homegrown status.
I doubt there's a space for Reguilon to come back into the squad, at the expense of one of Udogie, Perisic and Sess.

Playing Ben Davies as a left-wing back seems critical to whether Tottenham function or not. Davies has been selected in that role in three of Spurs' last six games. They won all three to an aggregate score of 7-1 while without him in that left-sided role they lost crucial games with Sheffield United, AC Milan and Wolves.

Reguillon is better than Perisic or Sess (or at least less bad ) . He can also play as a LB unlike the other 3. Perisic should go for sure. Liability.

Do we know how bad his injury was?

also, if that game doesn’t make you appreciate Davies, I don’t know what will. As so much of their attack came down Perisic side. Their first goal was very much his being switched off.

His injury is probably key to what happens for the rest of the season.

If we have to play Perisic there’s no way a new manager can switch to a back four. And with Davies and Sessegnon injured it’s only really Perisic we have left on the left flank.

He’s been largely awful so we may be better off playing Lenglet as a makeshift full back if we switch to a four. But it’s less than ideal.

Would add that Sessegnon have been out for 5 weeks on what was reported to be ‘around 6 weeks’ out.

He’s not famous for coming back strong from injury nor has he been in any good form but he might be an option in the next couple of games.

Fucking annoying.

Been a better wing back than Perisic and a better CB Lenglet.

And with our medical team he'll definitely be out for the season.

Fuck, relying in Perisic to both play well and stay fit is absolutely a recipe for disaster. We're going to end up seeing Deki & Moura at LWB at some point, aren't we?
