Our forwards need upgrading. If we ever become genuine title challengers he should only be an impact sub which I think he would excel at

Must admit, have a nagging doubt about our forward options as a collective. Not totally convinced it has the right makeup, especially when it comes to having an explosive, game changer type player.

Feels like we may have one two many who have question marks over them. Doesn't mean they won't come good but just waiting for them to show us something but could go either way.

It's a shame we've so many injuries as he needs to be taken out of the team. looks fragile mentally, if something goes against him in a game his head goes down. Any fullback against him should be clattering him in first few minutes and doing everything possible to stop him getting any joy in opening 10/15 minutes and they will have an easy job then until he gets subbed around 70 minute mark.

He’s still young and new at the club. In an ideal world we would be able to rotate him with a more experienced player but we are where we are. But for me he looks like he has enough to be a really good player given time.

A lot of people are criticising Ange for not gambling on even younger players right now. Well here is the reality. Nine times out of ten young players need a lot of patience and time to develop.

Agree with a lot of the above. Good potential, but needs patience as he’s not firing yet. If everyone was fit, it’s not obvious to me that he gets in the side

Too young to be in charge of making us tick. I think he's one that suffers when the midfield gets disrupted and we don't have a platform to build off.

The only thing that still concerns me is his decision making and finishing. When I watched him before spurs I saw the same things and he's guilt of missing good opportunities like yesterday where his decision to turn back when going through cost us a goal in the first half

People getting stuck in about Johnson yet want a whole load of other youngsters to start.

Its all just fantasy nonsense when your'e not privy to training and behind the scenes and dont carry the can for making such decisions

Wow just saw the 3 on 1 he bombed at 2-0. Horrendous

I think he played fairly well though was a constant threat. But you can’t bomb those huge chances

West Ham spent roughly the same money on Kudus... cracking player, I wonder how he'd do in the team instead.

If you look at Brighton, who have probably worse injury crisis than spurs, they have developed the academy in a way that means they are available to play. They have a clear and decisive strategy to developing players at the club.

Spurs have, granted, only just started to have some cohesion between academy and first team under Ange and it'll take a bit of time. But, the academy has been there for decades. To date, with a few obvious exceptions, it has remained a largely pointless entity.

Yesterday, at 4-0 down. Was a prime time to bring some of them on for a meaningful 20+ minutes. Not necessarily start them. But this is where they learn.

When Johnson was taken off, Kulu pushed more to the right and Veliz went central the game changed. Albeit with only 10 minutes left. Yes Johnson is young and yes he needs time, and no he's never a first team player at the moment. And probably neither are the other young lads in the bench. But there is room for integration and minutes, which on yesterday's showing, needs to start happening.

Edit. And in addition. The tiredness was also obvious yesterday. Which means you have to use the squad you have. The more tired they get... More injuries!

A player who didn’t really start for Ajax. There was countless reports about attitude issues about and one who didn’t follow tactical instructions

When you splash out £48m you would expect a far better return than what we’re currently getting.
I don’t think we laid out £48 mil expecting an immediate impact from a 22 year old with limited premier league experience. My guess is that we’re hoping that in a year or 2 he’s performing at a higher level than he is now. Let’s see where he’s at at the end of next season. He’s shown glimpses which personally is all I ask for in the first season from a young player making a big move up.

Got in behind quite a few times with good movement. The end product doesn’t always rely on him. We need to time our movement better in the box. When the pass is on he gets his head up it and generally makes it. He played 2 or three decent balls in last night. Their manager obviously felt he was a threat as he brought Estapenian on at half time.

Can definitely improve and be more assertive, but he gives us a threat in behind all the time, with out that we’ll just play in front of teams and they can just squeeze up. Feels like a case of I didn’t want him so I’m gonna write him off at the earliest opportunity with some people

We needed homegrown players. Kudus is good but right now massively overperforms his xG which will soon stop

He’s getting so overhyped. He’s productive at the moment, West Ham are a counter attacking team, he’s getting alot of space to attack into, when you watch him play his all round game isn’t great. When the goals dry up, people will start to notice his all round game a bit more. Happened to so many players coming into this league.
