I don’t think we’d do that at this stage anyway. This transfer is more about squad building than addressing a glaring hole in the team. While I can see the merit in doing the transfer, Johnson doesn’t really elevate this team in any meaningful way.
Whilst not being a glaring hole, it could make us more explosive in the final third

It’s frankly amazing we’ve spent a month expecting them to lower their asking price, just like we did with Tapsoba. For players the selling clubs don’t really want to sell and have no contract pressure to sell.

I just don’t get it. Either pay the asking price or move on. There’s no pressure on the seller and no need for them to cave. Levy still thinks it’s 2005 and EPL teams “need” to sell.

36 hours left. Massive holes up top and at CB. 100M burning a hole in ENICs wallet.
That's not burning dude it's snuggling all cozy and toastie 🤗

If Levy does intend to leave this until tomorrow last minute then it will leave us no room to move if it goes sideways. I still think this gets done for sure but it’s just risky.
Feels like the Porro deal to me, we keep trying to chip away at a deal then sign him for the exact amount the selling club has always asked for, with minutes to spare. Personally i don't care if we do that, just as long as the signing gets done before the window closes.

Ish, ITK today was talks had stalled. Current *Breaking News* is we have started talking again.

IIRC last summer the day before deadline we had a bit of a white noise moment and then things picked up quite quickly as the day progressed?

We may be seeing something similar here. I expect tonight and tomorrow to be a tornado of info but whether that materializes into signings is up to one man and one man only.

Fab reporting that Forest now talking with Sangare from PSV

Mentions that Sangare out, Lozano in could also allow Bakayoko to leave PSV (we're also linked to him)

You'd also have to imagine yet another player getting targeted by Forest means they're spending/expecting some sort of potential cash coming in? Re: Johnson

Have a feeling we're connected here somehow, someway to either BJ or Bakayoko dominoes.

and they're still looking to sign Ndidi from Leicester

It definitely looks like they're expecting some money to come from somewhere...

For us it makes total sense for a pure cash settlement to only come last-gasp because

a) allows us time to shift players by other means

b) provides opportunity for a cash-plus-player avenue to be explored in the meantime

I know I've waited long periods to land a BJ, but this is getting ridiculous.
