I rate this guy massively myself. Scored goals in a bad team while playing half the season out of position. Think people get caught up in the “aesthetics” of the way players look on the pitch too often.

Could also be the type of player who improves dramatically in a better team.

Agreed. He has 11 goals in a season for a team almost relegated. Richarlison’s high is 14. Not trying to put him down, but 40 mil for a 22 year old who is already producing in the league is a good buy. He also fits Ange’s system well from my observations

Richi also scored those for a team that was almost relegated.

More to come from both I’d hope!

I can't understand how people don't want another Wales player that plays on the wing?
Lot to live up to for him, let's see if he's up for it.

Am I naive and a simpleton or something for not being impressed if he only scored or assisted against Everton, Bournemouth, Blackburn (EFL), Southampton, Leeds, Leicester, and Wolves?

I mentioned this earlier that most of his goals assists came against team at the bottom of the table or were relegated

But

In those games his contribution is probably what played an important part in keeping Forest up

In the Leicester game Barnes missed a couple of chances to score but Brennan scored both of his

This. A thousand percent.

Sometimes its easier to see a lively player and see him as a stand out and the next best thing but they may still have shortcomings that are overlooked because one or two of his traits look really good.

Spence is an example. A few videos of him carrying the ball with power and Pace and people are screaming for Conte to play him and he is a thousand times better than Emerson who looks slower and poorer in final third.

Turns out Emerson is far better because he does a lot of the important things much better and the coach can work on the other areas.

Its far easier to work on a players weaknesses/decision making if a lot of the foundations are already in place.

we have heard Kudus is lazy and a bit greedy with the ball.

Thats two poor traits for the team we have and shows a player who is potentially going to upset the balance and harmony.

Orban is going to cost 30m but hasnt come from an academy so may miss a lot of those traits.

At 15-20m it may be worth the punt. 30m is much more of a risk. If he fails, you lose about 20m.

Johnson already has a lot of key traits.

The viewpoint must be that by improving his decision making and contributions it may lead to a 10+ goal per season player. If not, you still have a player who Works incredibly hard, is smart tactically and can work at a decent level.

People still havent learnt by the Ndombele transfer.

60m for a player who had significant areas of weaknesses and lack of foundations. Put him in a tougher league where those foundations are a mínimum and he completely fails.

I’m guessing you were dancing of joy when we signed Solomon, with him scoring home and away against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

I just read on reddit that Johnson missed all/most of preseason with an ankle injury, and he's still not match fit/sharp. That might explain his early season form which hasn't been great.

I do like his profile and wouldn't be against the signing, especially if swaps were involved.

I've never seen him play and know nothing about him. I flipped my coin which has told me he's not at the level we require and he's poor value.

Forest have signed

Montiel, a right back from Sevilla
Andrey Santos, a centre midfielder on loan from Chelsea

And are apparently in advanced negotiations for

Murilo, a centre back from Corinthians
Zaidu Sanusi, a left back from Porto

That tells us they could be spending money they know they’ve got coming and I don’t see them taking any of our players in the Johnson deal on the back of these 4 deals for them.
Apparently they have FFP difficulties 🤷🏻‍♂️

Might be open to last minute loans as part of the deal, with us subsidising wages.

I would normally agree but not sure about Forest given they did what, 20+ signings last season? 😅

It's a combination of a number of reasons mate. If it were just down to individual posters pissing me off I'd have stopped quite a few years ago.

Right now there is a lot of contradicting stuff coming through from different sources and I'd rather not pass that on to the forum unless I'm pretty convinced it's close to the mark. Or at least as good as it gets from one sides POV at least. I know some of it at least is good because others are backing up what I'm hearing. It wouldn't be the first time this has happened with a new regime taking control so I'll see what happens when things settle down. As I say in my signature I'll still speak to the admin and others back of house so if what I hear is worthy of putting out you'll still hear it through other channels.(y)
I've been on here for over a decade. Safe to say, you and Herc are both GOATS when it comes to ITK.

Have even more respect for you taking a step back for now if you're not sure your info is 100% correct.

Thanks in general for all you've done so far for this forum, i'm sure there will be more to come!
