Haha so clever with the Donna comment. It’s the first time I’ve seen that one, good one.

Ok buddy let’s go over the last two s so that I don’t “double count”.

Spend - £350m
Sold - £140m

Net Spend - £210m.

Guess what……that puts us 6th in the highest in the Premier League
.
You seem to be defending this. 6th highest in the Premier League doesn't sound like the highest ambition to close the gap to the top teams competing for silverware.

Anyway, after losing out on Fati we need to bring in Johnson now to improve our quality up-front.

The fact is that, a month after selling Kane and buying nobody, our window is seemingly reliant on getting Brennan Johnson, who wasn't even in the top 10 winger targets most of us would have wanted.

Even if we get him and some shit back-up CB, we'll still be significantly weaker now than we were a month ago. That's a fact, and it's a disgrace. That £100m, as we all predicted, has gone absolutely nowhere.

Kulu and Porro like most of the players we sign, the transfer fee will be spread over a number of years.
So in Porro and Kulu, this will be the 2nd payment of the transfer fee, so we can't include the full transfer fee into this season expenditure.
A little knowledge is dangerous.

Both Porro and kulu were loans up until this year, and any fee until that point would be a loan fee directly against our P&L. If you are looking at net expenditure then it would be correct that their cost sit against this year.
What you are referring to is amortization of an asset against the balance sheet value, which is effectively an accounting mechanism for charging an asset over the duration of it's realisable life span...a very different thing.

I suppose the window is still open. We can still get a decent CB, Brennan Johnson and another top midfielder and make the window decent but anything short of that and it’s a poor window when someone like Kane leaves there is no getting around that.

it’s sad as Ange has been a breath of fresh air considering all that has gone on. Let’s hope the club show some ambition in these last 2 days.

Given his age, homegrown status, length of contract, his club’s financial situation etc, this isn’t a cheap deal.

We should only buy him if we think he gets into and improves the first team straight away or has huge potential.

Given our need for a centre back and possibly a number 9, I’m not sure this is a goer.

I don't even know where to start with this... the stadium was always there to increase the value of Tottenham and spark further revenue streams for the ENIC kitty. The Kane deal was 75% upfront.. it is already confirmed we can spend over £400 million and still keep within FFP. I don't know how people still don't get it.

This line has begun being bandied about recently for some strange reason, perhaps since the Boehly takeover of Chelsea, and it boggles my mind.

400m headroom for FFP, does not mean we have the funds to commit 400m on transfers. We've run at a loss for three consecutive years, and while we are somewhat of cash-strong still, we are nowhere near the likes of Newcastle, Man City, Man United, and Chelsea in terms of spending power. How people don't get that is beyond me.

This is where the ownership should be putting money in themselves (but they won't) - Levy isn't interested in putting any of their own money into the club to really fund a rebuild - (I'm not saying Boehly money, but just a bit more than we do and push the boat out) - they are more interested in investing in fixed assets like property where the return will be much greater and much more certain. If you were him (with a degree in land economy), who are you investing in, another Tanguy Ndombele for £64m or the foundations to a block of flat and a hotel? They don't give a fuck about the playing side of the club, it's a mere afterthought to the rest of their development plans and enriching themselves as much as possible when they sell the club.

I'm not going to join the idiots saying we've not spent enough money this summer. I'm happy with majority of the acquisitions but for us not to have a plan for life without Big H is absolutely shocking and Levy deserves the fans wrath that is coming to him. For me this is his final insult, and he needs to do the only thing left and leave, whichever way it takes. We have all had quite enough of this now and we deserve better.

as the club look to beat Brentford to the signing of Forest star Johnson.

Sources close to the Johnson situation expect Tottenham to make an offer for Johnson on Thursday, with the player keen on a move to North London.

So how the fuck did arsenal spend almost 200m this window, we are not the only one that was run at a loss the last three years. The difference between us and the lot down the road is the ambition of the chairman, they will do what it takes to win and we will do what it takes to get by.

There are many differences. For one, Levy's wealth comes mainly from the valuation of THFC as a football club. He doesn't have that many assets that he can convert to solid funds to actually put into the club as most of it is already in THFC and any funds Joe puts in would dilute Levy's shares. Not to mention, even if Joe wanted to, the indictment in the US hanging over his head means he can't really do anything anyway because he's under so much scrutiny.
Another is that Arsenal doesn't have 800 million in debt hanging over their head, and they managed to qualify for CL this season while we are out of all European cups.

I'm of the same opinion as most, if not everyone, on this forum that we're likely not getting any further with Levy and ENIC and are getting held back. I would like new owners. What I take issue with are the straight-up lies and/or fallacies being thrown about that only incite anger and contribute nothing positive to the fanbase, the players, or the club.

Once again, FFP headroom and spending power isn't and never has been the same thing.

Just to add a point. I'm glad we're not Manchester United and in their messy situation
