Looks class, flipside though you can bet your arse the incompetent refs in the prem would be dishing out freekicks and pens for half of those tackles the twats.

Hopefully we sign him though.
Yep agree especially against liverpool and United who get rewarded everything. But looks a smashing player .

The bits I like are where the attacking player thinks he has done his stuff and about to move away with the ball but Romero's foot sticks out and the ball is gone. Another take I got from that was he flicks the ball off an opponent very well to get the throw ins/goal kicks.

We need someone aggressive to boss the box. we conceded way too many goals from set piece headers last year

he’s one of, if not the most aggressive front foot CB in the world. the stats back it up too, ~30 more interceptions than the CB with the second most in Serie A last season.

Tottenham eyeing triple swoop for Cristian Romero, Pierluigi Gollini and Bryan Gil
Tottenham are looking to bring as many as three players in the coming weeks as Heung Min-Son commits his future

Tottenham are stepping up their attempts to land Atalanta centre-back Cristian Romero after tying Heung Min-Son to a new deal until 2025.

Romero, 23, is Spurs’ primary target to strengthen the heart of Nuno Espirito Santo’s defence for the start of the season in three weeks. They are negotiating a deal with his Italian club, who have loaned him from Juventus with an obligation to buy at the end of the campaign.

The Argentina international’s deal is expected to break the £40million barrier should talks progress over the coming days. Spurs sporting director Fabio Paratici knows the player from his time at Juve and sees him as a player who would suit the Premier League.

Spurs are looking to reshape their backline under Nuno, after last season when they relied on Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier and Davison Sanchez as centre-backs. The Romero deal has a long way to go between clubs but he would be a dominant centre-back for Spurs should he arrive in the Premier League.

It's oddly unheralded outside of Spurs forums this.

Imagine if Man U were buying the defender of the season from the Prem or La Liga? The press would be jizzing all over the place.

Suits me fine, but a little odd

From what I gather it's all in installments so it's not like we're paying it in one go.

£50m for Ben White or €50m for Romero? I know which one I would rather have.

I actually think it's probably closer than you think. Ben White's a good player who's proven in the Prem
