As Tyson once said: Everyone has a plan until you get punched in the face.

Playing according to Ange’s philosophy will sometimes leave us open to the counter or a long ball over the top. It’s why he insists on holding such a high line, as the percentages are against the forward. Dier showed him wide, Skipp got back on the cover and Danjuma blazed over. We win 2-1.

There may also be that subconscious thinking where they fancy leaving Romero 1 on 1 usually but instead it was Dier who doesn't engage and backs off a lot more
They have to adjust their way of thinking with the players being left back to defend.

In my opinion there’s a lot of over analysing. Instead of enjoying the football people are caught up in how it’s all going to go wrong (some maybe even hoping so) and are nitpicking about errors, repeating lots of cliches about Sunday league football etc. I just think that’s a really sad attitude to have when for the first time in ages we’ve actually really enjoyable to watch and getting our act together.

Maybe it’s just a different attitude towards the game among posters which is fine, but we went for the “experts” in Mourinho and Conte and it was a car crash both times. Now we’re trying something new and I just don’t see we have much to lose after years of utter mediocrity.

Sorry to post this in here when it’s not really relevant to Romero but it’s where the chat has gone in here today.

I think the issue is - it’s not the first time it’s happened . Look how comfortable we were at Palace , 2 up and palace not even trying to close us down , they Nick a goal and then we are wide open in the last minute and they miss a great chance , same at Luton . I’m not going to complain about Ange's style of football but there certainly needs to be a tweak when seeing out games .

“Seeing out games” ain’t in his vocabulary.

Why does it seem like whenever we’re turning a corner, something always has to ruin it?

I’m much less confident about our fixture list now.

Thankfully (I guess), 4-5 weeks could translate to "only" 4 league matches and Ange said Micky might make United.

It is, but us seeing out games is looking for more goals in his eyes. He's right too, the only way you stop the other team from chucking everyone forward is maintaining threat.

Ain't no team in the Prem wants to get walloped by 6 goals.

We've still got Conte culture in there, it was drilled hard into some of these players that are now on the fringes of the first team and still playing because of injuries and suspensions.
