Something is clearly wrong here.

Either the medical team needs replacing, or something needs to change in training.

Way too many muscle injuries for this stage of the season.

Well many teams not just us are getting way more injuries than normal by this point of the season but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that both our main CB’s have done their hammys given how often they have to sprint in this style of play.

Id be interested to know if Ange’s CB’s at his previous clubs also had this issue or not, that way we can work out if it’s bad luck or intensity of the premier league etc.

Maybe Ange doesn't think Phillips 'is there yet'. That doesn't mean to say he won't ever be, but the lad is only 18 and only played seven times in the Championship last season if I'm not mistaken, so he is incredibly inexperienced at this level and most likely needs game time elsewhere on loan as you suggested.

Cameron Carter Vickers had a knee injury last year, but no hammy issues.

Would like to look up on Celtic’s injuries last few seasons.
The high line, recovery sprints for the defenders is definitely going to stress the big CBs hamstrings, compounded by the stop start nature of VAR.
with the Effect also increased with practicing this most days, you’d hope the money in out sports science medical department would be able to suggest something.

January without Cuti, VDV, Maddison, Bentancur, Sarr, Biss and Son. 7 genuine first teamers is going to be rough.

I think it's pretty evident we need 2 CBs for long term stability. We should be able to get one in early (Dragusin/Adarabioyo?) and see how things pan out with Todibo. Of course, that's hugely dependent on what budget we have, but it wouldn't bother me one bit if we passed up on Gallagher in favour of more urgent business.

Especially when you consider that we play no Europe or Carabao cup.

We'd be down to our u21's by now if we also had to cope with Europe this season.

It's very strange the amount of injuries we pick up.

I think Emerson a Brazil international playing there over Phillips for now in such a crucial period makes sense but beyond Emerson I’d like Phillips to start over Dier but at the end of the day Ange sees them train so he’ll know the right call at the right time.

Either way we need to sign a CB on Jan 1st.
