Sanchez is much better in a 3 than he is in a two (and let’s be honest he’s been disastrous in a two on many occasions). I’m fine with him playing a few games. The bigger concern is the frequency with which Romero seems to pick up mid to long term injuries.

I think we need to bite the bullet and pay big money for another top centre back now if we’re serious about challenging. We can accommodate Sanchez in a three but we need more top quality at the back if Romero is going to be out injured for 10+ games a season.

Just goes to show how it only takes 1 injury in our defence & it’s significantly weaker.

We simply have to upgrade there in the market.

Remember, end of last season Romero was out (including the NLD) and Sanchez stepped up!

We also have Lenglet too.
It'll be fine!

Precisely. Also if we got Bastoni, we would still be in the exact same position on RCB front - so not an issue

BUT

If its gonna be a regualr occurence these injuries then it may and will prove an issue long term.

It's a loss but our defensive record without him is actually very good. We just need to be better in attack but the goals have been flowing for much of the year.

Honestly when are people going to ask questions about him and his commitment to Spurs? Third muscle injury in 10 months and he is only 24, not a good sign. But he still somehow always manages to turn up for Argentina, that dosen't sit right with me at all. Last season he and Lo Celso went to South America without the clubs consent and missed two games for us. Don't get me wrong wonderful player but spending over 40 million on him when he only turn up for half a season is a massive gamble!

His commitment to spurs because he got a msucle injury playing for spurs?

I agree with others on here, we'll almost certainly prioritise a quality CB signing now - whether that's Bastoni or someone else.

Personally, wish we'd got Bremer, he's already getting rave reviews at Juve.

Damn the way people are acting in here you'd think he was done for the season. Obviously a huge loss but Sanchez stepped in last season and played great for us down the stretch. What are people so worried about? It's just 3-4 weeks

Wonder if dier could be moved to RCB Then lenglet CCB, judging by few pre season minutes he looks like he can pass a decent ball

Wouldn't make sense to move Dier from his best position to accommodate Lenglet. Sanchez is the most obvious choice for the RCB position and he showed towards last season that he can be called upon to help the team.

Speedy recovery to Romero, but Sanchez was absolutely fine at RCB in our crucial run in.
Played 3 won 3, no goals conceded, nine scored.

Surely British journos would know this over this random bloke,
This "random bloke" works for an Argentine sports channel so it may well be that his job is to follow up news on Argentine internationals like Romero.
